Beginning the process of another income stream
OK, so I've decided to go down the road of putting together some affiliate marketing efforts and generate another income stream. Currently I am a surgical RN, but prior to that relatively recent career change, I was a graphic designer and computer animator for my own small company for 20 years. I'm really looking forward to sinking my teeth into this field, and back in the late '90s and early 2000's I did a little bit of this and actually did fairly well. However, those were the days you could grab a domain like "myShoelaceOutlet.com" and make a million in IPO money without having any business plan.
Today I know that things are different and although achievable, it's going to take real time and effort. Both I'm not afraid of. I want to use this blog as a way to reach out to others and provide encouragement, and also honestly relay frustrations which I know are part of any new venture. I think writing and journaling is a productive habit for have because it helps a person become committed to what their goal is. It's also a way of cementing your plans and ideas by putting it into words. Too often, I believe, our good intentioned thoughts just float randomly about in our minds, but writing has the effect of organizing our ideas and making them real. I'm a big advocate for writing and to record my thoughts because of that. And so, that is what I'm going to be doing here. I'll try to post something every day or three, but please feel free to ask questions or post comments which I think will be beneficial to keep us all, myself included, engaged and focused on the end result.
I'm a bit of a writer, and one thing that another writer told me was that even when you don't feel like writing, write something every day. Even if it is garbage. Just write. It develops a habit....and..... also opens up our creativity when we think we are not in the mood. I believe that approach applies here as well in developing a secondary income stream. Work on it everyday. Read some posts. Study some lessons. Generate assets that move you a square closer to the goal. So, here we go....

Dan, an excellent post. Your writing skills are superb, the words just seem to flow together. One of things that I had to do is to write and write when just to express something. Here at WA you write to not only to help yourself, but to encourage other so they will succeed. I don't see your transition to be a problem with your experience. Your knowledge of writing will encourage people like me to press on. Thank you!
