Ode to David Lindeblad

When Your Teacher Dies

It is very perplexing and difficult to describe, the way it feels when your teacher dies.

He taught at Wenatche Valley College Omak campus way up near the Canadian border in Barter Faire country. This gentle and spry man was teaching before I was born. He had the most character, cup of coffee in hand described the days when the Lyceum was the way of blogging a public speech to the world.

I love David Lindeblad, he so animated about Norwegian Independence Day! My teacher, God rest his gentle soul. He inspired me for nursing, I got the privilege of helping rest in passing of many wonderful beautiful people. He taught me International Relations and so much more. He was my Speech cheer leader. I remember he steered me through my projects of Genetically Modified Crops and world trade. He told me never give up on my dad's memory marker after passing from Agent Orange. Please tell Elizabeth Fry and friends, Semper Fi'nally got dads marker and with order from the Department of Justice. Dear God, he rocked the stage at the WVCO college and put a fire under this nurse. Who knew what the Lyceum was? David Lindeblad.
OH MY HEART
I love him.
Sincerely,
Nurse Becca

PS Who has ever even heard of the Lyceum? David Lindeblad, that's who!

Good morning my long lost cousin, I know the feeling that you are describing, my teacher sister merici I love her so, and she was a very one that was always on my case, but also she open my mind. When I heard of her death I was heartbroken, she had a great soul may you have a wonderful day my sister.

David Lindelblad is amazing, Ill never forget the critter in my car and the walking lesson he gave

Loved your long paragraph where you worked in so many different matters!

Thank you kindly:) it was a runon. Through tears and memories of a splendid man. He is awesome. I don't think I will edit. Thanks again& kind regards,
Nurse Becca

Sorry to hear of the loss of such a great mentor to you.

5 years ago when I read through all the Greek Histories and Classics, I remember the Lyceum was the garden in Athens where Aristotle taught Philosophy.

Sonny

Yes! And Socrates. I think of WA as a sort of online Lyceum lol because a lot of the videos i enjoyed of Kyle while traveling

Thank God for people like that who inspire others to greater things. Thanks for sharing.
Ray

Amen ! Welcome dearheart

Therein with you lies his immortality, as your guide and mentor, he has left with you his inspiration, to use and pass on as you see fit.

Agreed! Thank you for this reminder...i am going to brush my teeth now😁🙏💓

Don't brush to hard, so I've been told, too little, too late.

Nope just enough to prevent the hole from going to need a root canal. My mom said you only have to brush the ones you want to keep.

Lyceum converted the traditional medium of education, and made it accessible to everyone. This changed the lives of many people in the World. May his soul rest in peace.

Agreed, and to me it is easy to see how that relates to our community. Amen

I am glad, you had an influencial teacher. I had some memorable teachers. May God keep them happy, wherever they are.

Yes David is that and always a happy guy, I loved to hear him talk politics

I know Lyceum is called the 3 highest classes of secondary school. Like fifty years ago it was Gymnasiym all together (6 classes). I know about Aristotle's Lyceum too. What else is there that is called Lyceum?!
Uff, need a pill haha

That was amazing, makes me smile. Off the top of your head, you're on the right track. He spoke of Ancient Greek, Socrates and the walking instruction one evening class we took a stroll or recess, call it a field trip. There was an animal in the engine of my car, I saw it go in there but not come back out. I promised him it was no joke and I was worried but didn't want to miss his lecture being late for class, he got a shimmer in his eye and brought the whole class out. We spoke of forced migration of the little critter, philanthropy, philosophy and he decided we shall leave the hood open for the poor fella to escape while we finished lecture.
When he passed of an ultra rare disorder on most celebrated holiday to him Norwegian Independence day. He knew holidays of all parts of the world like a walking encyclopedia. My heart, it is my specialty and 30 years research, the cancer that met his passing. What an honor to have been his student and I thank you for you have cheered my spirits. How are you so funky&cool; maybe you are a musician of some form, from Europe somewhere, anyway I thank you. I never heard of such a Lyceum thing until the car critter not a raccoon but a little bigger

I have books of many Ancient Philosophers like Plato, Aristotles mostly, i read some when i had time but didn't even read 50% (i bought them all because they were on discount). Well good for you to have someone to look up to. Alexander the Great had Aristotles as a mentor. These days it is probably the opposite - you have people who must avoid and not look up to. It might be funny, but some anime characters that had a moral compass of something were more of an inspiration as i was watching japanese anime for lots of years. I took some bass lessons back in the day but i didn't find people that i could make a band (all were learning music as a hobby and did not take it seriously). What i found weird is that stuff i wanted to write music about (well at least i was thinking about it), there were other people that wrote them already. Maybe not exactly the same, but quite similar. So i believe that for whatever situation i might be in , there will be a song that is already written for that situation(Korean, Japanese, European, American maybe i look others too so far so good).
So music is like a funnel that i take away all the negative emotions without using them to do harmful things to others(well i use funnel cause it is a cool word and Jay's training this week was about funnels!). See how many bands with those songs make money now but unfortunately money that can't be handled right will make you arrogant and destroy you from inside. But i wrote enough maybe i won't be able to post it!

I love this, and your rock out videos. It reminds me of back in the day of MTv but ai am probably aging myself.

Yeah, not too long ago I learned my college professor at Gallaudet University passed away. I didn't even know she was in her mid 80's, guess time flies. Glad your former teacher had some influence on you. Hold those memories to your heart.
