How To Be Happy When You Are Sad
Many things would make you sad. Sometimes things don’t always go as we want them to. It could be as a result of your job, you fought with someone close to you, or you are not okay with your relationships; the causes are countless. When this happens, we end up feeling sad. In most cases, feeling sad is normal; after all, feelings are what that makes us human.
However, you shouldn’t make sadness part of your lifestyle; sadness leads to stress, which affects your general health. Studies have shown that there are many health problems related to stress like diabetes, obesity, Alzheimer’s diseases, and depression.
Some Tips you could follow to make you Happy
Surround yourself with the right people
Just like negative energy, happiness is contagious. Surround yourself with positive people that build and empower one another. Be around people that bring out the best in you, those who see solutions and not the problem. Those that see the glass as half full and not half empty. When the circle around you is happy, it helps you build your confidence and improve your perception of how you view circumstances.
Create your happiness
Happiness will not come knocking at the door looking for you. Go out and look for it. Put yourself first and make it your priority to pursue happiness by doing things that make you happy. To start with, you could get a journal where you will list down the things you would want to do. Once you have listed everything, strive to achieve everything on the list. Go ahead and award yourself every time you succeed in doing any of the activities on your list. Don’t make your future self-ask ‘what if;’ find out now.
Build a positive mindset
A negative mindset will only prevent you from achieving your goals. Your mind is very powerful, push yourself to the limits. When you set yourself to do something, you will be unstoppable. You can either be your own best friend or worst enemy. The universe has a way of giving back what we feed it. When you feed negativity, you receive the negativity, and when you give positivity, you receive positivity.
Laugh and smile a lot.
It may sound crazy, but it works! Every time you smile or laugh, you improve your mood, therefore, making yourself feel happier. Try faking it at first even when you don’t feel like, soon your laughter could trigger a happy memory and make you laugh for real.
