The real starting point...About Me
I had completed everything in the Getting Started Tutorial EXCEPT the About Me page of my site, and was getting a bit intimidated by the task. It felt like the REAL start, as it was the first piece of original content for my site.
The About Me page is also where most readers will start to get to know me, what my site and I am about. It was a rough task to get through, introducing myself to my target audience, trying to write for them and not lose my voice in the process, ensure I felt ok with the flow of the information I wanted to hit....
I wanted to post what I came up with here, to provide an example for those who may be stuck on your own "About Me" page, but also to ask for feedback if anyone cares to give it. Thank you in advance, this place is never short of good information and honest commentary. :)
I decided to just post the link to my page, to avoid duplicate content. You can read there and comment any feedback back here if you'd like. Comments on my site directly are obviously welcomed but not expected, as I'm not trying to drive traffic from here! Just wanting some opinions :)

For those having trouble with their own About Me page, I recommend a few things:
-Tell your audience about yourself. My information touched on my interest in spirituality and culture, reading in general, and my personal interest in self-help books. All of this pertained to my niche directly, however a few things about yourself unrelated to your niche would ok too, but...
-Stay focused. Your audience is there for a particular reason/niche, try to write something that illustrates why YOU are the voice they need to be hearing. What do YOU bring to the table within this niche?
- Use your words to *tell* your reader, use your *style* to show. The words you write will tell your reader the information they need to intelligently decide to keep reading, but your writing style and how you let your unique voice out on the page is what emotionally engages your reader.

Couple of things. You really need to put up a picture of yourself. People want to see who is helping them. You can add some book covers to illustrate the titles that you mentioned in your content as well. You can do a screen grab from the Amazon site for the images.

Thank you for the input! This is exactly what I was looking for (though the compliments do not go wasted, LOL)
I will be uploading a picture soon-ish, but I'm a tad picky when it comes to what I want my readers to see me as. I want them to see ME, absolutely! But, I want the right picture, versus say, the Facebook-selfies I currently have. So I'll be taking some time to find the right backdrop (probably my bookshelf) and take a few pictures to decide on here shortly.

Hi Denise and well done. I'm working on a manuscript (while I work through WA which in itself is a challenge) which is all about issues I've faced since childhood that caused mayhem during my life. I'm hoping once finished, I can publish the eBook and sell it online to help others around the world who I know are suffering too. I'd be very interested in reading that once you're done. I too have had some childhood issues, that I feel I have mostly resolved, but as I am sure you know, it's always going to be there under the surface.
