Are You a Quitter?

What’s the first thing we usually need to do when we join WA and start to build success? We get asked to set goals. Goals we shall focus on to achieve a plan or our dreams, only to find us facing many obstacles.

On our road to success, obstacles are guaranteed and sooner or later we will come across them. It may be in the beginning of our journey. This can be as little as doubt in ourselves what makes us struggle. It may be fear of the unknown and the lack of skills/experience.

But also obstacles may come much later in the form of real life issues which make you feel like you just can’t move ahead in reaching your goals. Those obstacles may come in form of a lack of resources and funds to keep going. No goal or dream is achieved without any struggle.

The key is to stay focused and motivated, which seems to be hard when we’re at the end of our capabilities. To quit would be an easy way out, but trust me when I say, that this certainly will result in failure when we quit.

I’ve come across a very motivating and inspirational poem I would like to share with you today.

Don't Quit - No Matter What

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest, if you must, but don't you quit.

Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about,
When he might have won had he stuck it out;
Don't give up though the pace seems slow--
You may succeed with another blow.

Often the goal is nearer than,
It seems to a faint and faltering man,
Often the struggler has given up,
When he might have captured the victor's cup,
And he learned too late when the night slipped down,
How close he was to the golden crown.

Success is failure turned inside out--
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems so far,
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit--
It's when things seem worst that you must not quit.

It’s a wonderful poem, isn’t it? Life is hard, no doubt, and as we all know, nothing happens without a reason. We need to learn to adapt and adjust along the way. That often means to be prepared to encounter obstacles on our journey and explore alternative paths for making it all work.

If we quit too soon only to see someone else achieving what we were dreaming about, chances are we realize too late how close we were to the same achievement. The goals and dreams you set and have for yourself are part of you. When you fail to push forward to achieve those goals and let your dreams come true, then you give up on yourself.

Don’t quit. Do not give up on who you are, what you’re meant to be and definitely not on what you want to do and achieve. Believe in yourself!

We all know what DON’T QUIT means, but let me show you how I read it.
