Discussion of the Quote:
You may not get a seat at the table but that does not mean you can’t sit at the table. Instead, you find yourself your own seat and place it at the table and sit down. Indeed, life may or may not present you with a seat so you secure your own seat any way and with it take your place at the table. Be bold, be brave, if you are not provided with something in life, provide it for yourself.
Taking a seat or having a seat at the table, this is not all there is to it. “Having a seat at the table”,this is symbolic of having influence and power to bring about change and make decisions. Therefore, the table represents power, negotiation and credibility. So when you have a seat at the table, it means that you have the opportunity to be heard and to make a difference with whatever agenda that you are presenting at the table.
Final Thoughts:
Whether you are given a seat at the table or you have to bring your own seat, you should bring your expertise, add value, and deliver new insights because everyone at the table has content about what is already out there. So you have to bring what you and only you can add to what is already known.
Furthermore, you can speak at the table but you should also encourage others to speak as well; therefore, you should listen and observe what others have to say. Additionally, you should never assume anything at the table, get the facts, understand what is said. Ask questions and get clear and precise feedback, but most importantly, own your seat at the table!

Wow Nichola! thank you for this insight. People normally give up when they find that they are not provided with a seat at the table and then they go away saying" The table was full, there was no chair for me to seat."

to this and this is just me.
If I don't have a seat, I would leave. Obviously
my presence is not wanted and so there is no
sense to stay.
I go where I am celebrated and not
tolerated. As simple as that and that
will be in a place where I would be a
