We either have courage or not. For those who possess it, they have to use it in order to build it up.

Discussion of the Quote:

The meaning of the word courage: “The ability to do something that frightens one.” Also, “Mental or moral strength to venture, persevere, and withstand danger, fear or difficulty.” Courage is the ability to step forth and take action to achieve anything in life knowing that there is no guarantee that you will achieve it. Indeed, courage is very vital. However, not everyone possesses it and for those who have it, they must use it in order to strengthen it.

Courage is important for our growth and survival in this life. It takes courage to realize anything we want to achieve in life because nothing is guaranteed in life. You may or may not accomplish what you set out to do but you begin anyway knowing that nothing is promised to you.

It is the internal fortitude that will allow you to take action in the face of fear. You know that you may not achieve what you want but that realization does not stop you from taking action any way.

Furthermore, courage is that inner strength that gets stronger by use. It is vital because it allows us to practice our other virtues. Without courage, we do not possess the ability to take the first step forward believing in ourselves and our abilities to begin and to have the fortitude to see it through to the very end no matter what we have to encounter along the way.
