Injustices, Rules and Consequences!
Quote of the Day:
“Injustice makes the rules, and courage breaks them.” Ursula K Le Guin
Meaning of the Quote:
Yes, it takes the occurrence of injustices to play out for the introduction of rules to govern those injustices. However, it takes great courage to realize the consequences of breaking rules, but you are still willing to break them anyway.
Discussion of the Quote:
Indeed, most times, it takes injustice for the creation of rules to occur. When an injustice is put into motion and the impact it creates on others is realized, it is only then that the powers that be, are moved to create laws to ensure that the injustice does not happen again or if it does, the perpetrators will suffer the consequences that are connected to that injustice.
Additionally, sometimes other injustices occur but no rules are put in place to prevent them from occurring again and again. So there are people who continue to suffer injustices while the perpetrators are allowed to continue to practice those injustices. As a result, that is how some people have the courage to break rules so that others can be created to alleviate other injustices.
Final Thoughts:
There will always be injustices in the world that we live in. Therefore, rules should be {but not always} put in place to combat those injustices. More importantly, the rules should be appropriate for the injustices that they govern.
Furthermore, there will be people who are not happy with the rules and will oppose them to the point of breaking them. The question is: are the rules fair and will they be able to deter the injustices that they were created to prevent. If not, then what is the point of their creation? As for those who break the rules, it takes courage to break any rule for that matter knowing that there can be and will be consequences to suffer for doing so.

Thank you Nichola, deep yet interesting post.
I watched a movie tonight, called Hidden Figures. Not seen it before though I gather it is Oscar nominated with a whole wealth of actors lined up.
Powerful movie, full of injustices, which I found challenging to watch in truth.
However, what is to be noted is how things have changed, and although injustices continue to happen each and every day, that movie (based on true life events) is testimony to changes that have and continue to take place.
Sometimes a little too slow, but progress nonetheless. There is hope!!
Worth a watch if you haven't seen it.
Thank you again Nichola 😊

Deep indeed Nichola, but when it comes to injustices... that is always the way I suppose...
It is up to the rule makers to make sure that everyone is treated fairly and equally but unfortunately that is rarely the case!
Appreciate the share my friend and enjoy the rest of your week!

Hi Nichola, I totally agree. I am still fighting for medical negligence justice 15 years down the line. I think the only way sometimes is to put your own life on the line, to be heard. To end the torment, although you still suffer the trauma for years to come. Have a great day.
