Doubt or Failure Which Is the Killer of Dreams?

Quote of the Day:

“Doubt kills more dreams than failure ever will.” Suzy Kassem

Meaning of the Quote:

When we do not believe in ourselves to become who we ought to be or to achieve our goals and dreams, we do very little then we quit or we do nothing toward their accomplishment and this is what kills our dreams more than taking action and failing but trying again and again until we achieve our dreams.

Discussion of the Quote:

Doubt gets us to think that we are inadequate and creates fear within us and this gives way to procrastination which eventually destroys our confidence. Without confidence, there is no drive toward achieving our dreams.

Indeed, doubt is a natural part of our life experiences. However, we can not allow it to control our actions because it will stifle our progress. Doubt makes us believe that it is not possible to achieve whatever we want in life. It debilitates us and stops us from taking action and without action nothing can be achieved.

When it comes to failure, at least, we took action even if it did not result in achieving our dreams. We can then adjust our actions and make another attempt at achieving our dreams. Nothing beats a trial but a failure. We can use failure to our advantage so that we can grow and become better and this can help us to have a better chance of succeeding with our dreams when take additional action.

Furthermore, failure is a valuable teacher from which we can learn and use the knowledge gained as a stepping stone to go back to the drawing board, then take additional action to try to accomplish our dreams.

Final Thoughts:

Think about the many things we all wanted to achieve in our lives but doubt stood in our way. Where are all those dreams now? Doubt makes us believe that we were not capable of doing those things, so we never tried or if we did we quickly gave up on them. Ultimately, each doubt culminated in an unfulfilled dream. Where are all of our unfulfilled dreams? Sadly, in graves within our minds- Therefore, we have to silence our doubt and do whatever it takes to accomplish our dreams.

Moreover, we stand to lose more because of doubt than we ever will with failure. With failure, we get to learn from it and then we can adjust our actions and this can give us a better chance of achieving success the next time around.

Unfortunately, with doubt, it paralyzes us so we do nothing or very little then quit which will eventually result in the death of our dreams. Ultimately, taking action and failing is much better than doubting and never taking any action at all.

I appreciate your time, comments and likes.

To our success

Kind regards,

Nichola

Yes, doubt can really pulls you down when you are trying to climb up your success ladder.
Instead, think about a small step that you can start with, do all the risk management and eliminate them.
You may even think about a better solution and come up a better idea.
Do not jump right in without thinking through what are the things you need to prepare.
Many people fail because they do not have the know how or skill set to handle the tasks ahead.
Preparation and risk management is essential.
Do not start if your risk analysis is risky or dangerous.
Start with a small step so even if it fails, you can recover quickly and make the necessary adjustments.

Great to hear from you again Nichola!

Personally I don't like the word "failure", we only fail when we give up, there are many different things that won't work so we have to keep on keeping on until we find what does work!

"Doubt" on the other hand can indeed be the killer of dreams....

If we don't have 100% believe and confidence in us that something can and will be achieved, then we may as well not bother!

I hope all is well my friend and enjoy the rest of your weekend! :-)

Doubt and Failure are things that we all must deal with, especially in these uncertain times. We must rise above them when and if we can, Nichola! An excellent quote too, by the way!

I hope so too!

I've always had a thin line between doubt and failure, Nichola.

I do know some folks who try something, and when it doesn't work, they'll say "I knew that wouldn't work!" - They doubted themselves from the very start.

Whereas if I give something my best try, and it doesn't work, I can view it as a failure, as long as I believe it's possible and don't allow doubt to creep in.

Appreciate the post!
Isaiah 🙂

Isaiah in my opinion saying the word try is setting yourself up for failure. It is like saying I can try but I don't really think it will work. This creates the situation you have just described, they set themselves up for failure.
When I m embarking on a new project I tend to say I am doing this.................. That incorporates the challenges and the failures along the way, that will ultimately lead to success

I agree, Catherine. I shouldn't use the word "try" so loosely when embarking on new task.

Hi Isaiah!

Wishing you the very best!

It took me a long long time to stop thinking about new endeavors as a try. Even now I sometimes hear myself say I will try that, but it is strange now I recognize the energy of that statement.

It means I am not going to be committed to it
