Hi everyone! I chose my niche and unfortunately the .com for my website name isn't available. For a health/fitness niche, would you recommend .org or .net?
Hi - if the .com is taken, and you take the .org or .net version of the name, then you may lose traffic to the original site. When people try and remember the name of your site, they will automatically assume it ends in .com and go there instead.Plus, the original site may not be happy you are using the same name. I would pick something entirely different.
Possibly a .org however always better a .com
You may like to try http://namemesh.com , look for the SEO and MIX coloums for ideas.
You may also like to try GoDaddy valuation tool to try and find something memorable.
However, the name is not so much important vs keyword rich content for SEO and ranking purposes.
