More Content Upsells More Sales!
Whats on my mind? The same thing that should be on your mind as you work on building your [ENTER YOUR SURNAME] Online Business Empire... So, what's on my mind? Content. Free Stuff, Up sells and having one of the most successful online business attitudes in the world! That's what's on my mind.

Okay. Can you see what you are doing vs. what you should be doing.
Here's the gist:
Dedication and quality web CONTENT are the foundation for your online success-- whether you choose to blog for the fun of it or have goals to generate money from online projects like online promotion of products, building website traffic for small businesses, or writing an eBook for Kindle on Amazon.
If you aren't currently aware of the fact that writing quality content is the key to online success, then you're in for a rude awakening, my dear. Nonetheless, to thwart the potential for any part of this post coming off as "rude", I'd like to kindly take your hand and walk you through a few tips for maximizing your efforts at building a KICK-BUTT website with a ton of earning power.
Let's get into it...
Now let's start by looking into that dedication part. The dedication that I am speaking of isn't related to your level of interest in building a solid product-based, sales conversion website, but more so your ability to balance those interests with actions.
While this concept may seem easy to grasp, in theory it is much more difficult and requires a great deal of discipline. Note: It's okay to play around with a few different products, ideas, and traffic sources when you first start out, because essentially this is how you learn. Learn by doing, right? However, as time passes you will find that reaching even the smallest of goals will seem challenging if you aren't dedicated to maintaining balance with what you've learned and performing tasks related to that single thing that you've learned.
Ooooookkkkkaaaay. What are you talking about Nerissa? You lost me!
According to several studies of the brain, when we multitask on actions that require us to simultaneously require our attention, it is doable (and in the lifestyles of today's busiest people, we do it more often than not); however, doing so puts strain on our brain as we switch our attention from one task to the other (but remember it happens so quickly because we are simultaneously multitasking).
The problem with this: According to University of California neurologist, Adam Gazzaley, "doing this [simultaneous switching of tasks] comes at a cost in performance." Source: http://www.brainfacts.org/sensing-thinking-behavin...
Oooooookkkkaaaay. How does this relate to my website success and sales conversions?
Answer:
- You need to STAY ON TRACK!
- You need to write high quality content (which should be based on your interests)
- You need to promote a product that is related to those very same interests
Here's a few suggestions for getting back on track, if you've fallen off:
- FOCUS on 1 Product (for 6 months)
- FOCUS on 1 Short-term Goal (for 6 months)
- FOCUS on 1 Traffic Source (for 6 months, so you can gauge if it's working)
- FOCUS on reaching out to folks who already have an online presence to see if you can leverage their online presence and get your 1 product in front of their visitors.
- FOCUS on 1 email list at a time (for 6 months)
Here's a saying that I've created for myself as it relates to building my email lists:
Follow
Our
Clicks, and then
Up
Sell
I guess it can mean whatever you perceive it to mean, but for me I just feel like the more times a visitor clicks on my opt-in forms, my article links, my reviews, my free eBooks or guides, my CONTENT or choose to click send on an email asking me questions, I'm one step closer to converting that visitor to a buyer.
The Takeaway
- FOCUS on 1
- Stick to a plan; and
- Write high quality web content (including free stuff like eGuides), engage your visitors, and lastly offer up sells-- just not too often!
