Fear is Not An Option

Hi All,

My name is Gwen and I have been in the work force for 30 years. And, I was raised to believe that if you go to school, get a good job, you could live the American Dream. I was wrong. I worked for some pretty reputable companies such as UPS, Ryder, Wachovia and Bank of America. I was even the secretary to the Black Caucus. I worked for doctors and lawyers, I've been a maid and even detailed cars. But, the week of Christmas, I was fired from UPS and after 4 years at Ryder I was fired again.

There is no worse feeling than having your lively hood taken away from you at the drop of a hat. You see, but my problem was I never got paid what I was worth. That was when I begin to explore other options in my head. What if? What if I had my own business? What if I could live in my dream house and traveled the world. What if?

But fear always kept me at bay. I was programmed.

And due to re gentrification where wages stay the same and rents got higher, I began falling behind financially even with a second job. The president of Carl's Jr. said it best..."if you want financial freedom, you have got to work for yourself."

Let me tell you about Fear. It paralyzes us mentally and physically. At first, it starts with self-doubt, followed by no action taken. Before we know it, the years have gone by. Albert Einstein definition of insanity is "doing the same thing over an over again and expecting different results". One of my favorite people is Robert Herjavec of Shark Tank. On YouTube he talks about "How he escaped poverty to become a Millionaire". And another favorite person of mind is Tony Robbins. And a favorite book of mine is "Think and grow rich by Napolean Hill".

So I started reprogramming my mind by surrounding myself with positive influences. In other words I pushed the mental reset button. I had to start thinking differently. And more importantly, I had to put my thoughts into action. When your rent and your car note are due at the same time and you can't pay it even with a full time job, then it is time for a change.

A famous gospel group of mine is Mary, Mary and in the song "Go Get Your Blessing" they say "If you want something you never had, you got to do something you never done". How true. Time out for fear!

In order for you to be comfortable, you are going to have to get uncomfortable...step out of that comfort zone. Make some sacrifices. Burn the midnight oil.

What I find helpful is making a TO DO LIST everyday. This helps to keep me focus. I encourage all of you especially you newbies to attack poverty in your life. Don't give up the first couple of weeks or even months. If you can wake up every morning and make someone else rich, then you can do it for yourself. Deleted negative energy out of your life. Remember, hardships prepare ordinary people to do extraordinary things. Your destiny awaits. Stay positive, stay focused and rule your financial kingdom with pride.

Peace
