Promoting “Making Money Online” Niche Before Making Actual Money is…
Just wrong. It just doesn’t make sense. This normally goes for newcomers. I know I’m drilling into a delicate topic here but I’m sure a lot of you have asked yourselves this question. Why would one promote “making money online” niche when you can’t back it up with experience? It’s like promoting a car that you have never owned before and have never tried out. How honest and sincere would you truly be (and successful for that matter)?
I’m a strong believer in that that you should promote products and services online in the same way as you would offline! You are there to serve your customers, to help them and potentially satisfy their needs and you wouldn’t do that if you had no idea what it is that you’re actually promoting, would you? Put yourself into customer’s shoes.
Being an owner of a website should ultimately be the same as owning a regular brick and mortar store. If people can’t literally see you it doesn’t mean you should invent fictional stories to lure them into buying. They will eventually find out anyway and your success will be shortlived. Think hard before venturing into something like that, it is your reputation on the line.
I’m Not Saying That...
You should abandon promoting WA or any other affiliate school. I’m only saying that if you’re new at this, try learning the ins and outs of affiliate marketing in general first. Promote other niches. Ask yourself what is it that interests you and try promoting that very thing. After you make your first sale, then will you be genuinely eligible to approach the “make money online” niche, because you have in fact “walked the walk”.
For all newcomers, I would suggest that you first take a look at the Online Entrepreneur Certification program and after you soaked all the information, try promoting a niche that is not “Making Money Online”. As soon as you succeed (and I’m positive you will!), if you so desire, go along promoting this niche.
What are your thoughts on this matter (especially experienced members)?

Good to find this, was thinking the same thing while starting my website after not being able to decide on my own niche. How can I tell people how to make money online if I have never made money online! Ha, is it worth a try to just promote WA and be rea about it being my first time?
JTBatt I'm computer illiterate in the start also not really good in writing content, I use to promote WA base on my experience in training lesson, Slowly I get a referral now they haven't gone for premium yet but it ok, And my amazon affiliate is doing good I put them together on one website. Just continue what you have started in few months you will be happy for the result.
You have to start somewhere...if you never do anything because you are not experienced you will never do anything at all.
The main reason why I'm leaving WA., is down to the reviewing situation. I can never recommend something or even advertise it if I don't have personal experience of it. Trusting other people's reviews just opens a can of worms in my opinion. I mentioned this on one of my two blog posts, and only two people responded. That tells me a lot.
Looks like you didn't leave, what gives? Are you doing good on here? I am new and considering giving or, or pushing forward. Not sure yet, any advice?
True story naturalis, When writing and promoting that niche what ever it may be your readers will see right through you and it will make it hard to build trust with them if you are not experienced in what your topic is. that's exactly why i do not write about anything that i personally have not tried, tested and experienced. doing so without first hand experience can only bite you in the bum later down the track,
Thank you for posting this. It is so true. I loved what you said about this being like promoting a car you haven't owned or driven. I commented on another blog just this morning on my belief that you cannot properly promote or even "review" something you have no experience with. It's always amazing to me how people are willing to do things so differently online than they would offline. It would do us all well to remember that at the other end of the computer is a real person just like you or me and that if we wouldn't do something offline, it's probably not something we need to do online either. Great post.
All niches fall into the category of making money online but I understand what you are saying.
