If you've paid any attention to my WA posts, you'll know I'm a diehard fan of Firefox.

This month's release of version 57, Quantum, gives even more people reason to love my favorite browser.

  • Faster page loads
  • Less memory usage
  • Faster tab switching
  • Still has private browsing with tracking protection
  • Take and share screenshots directly from Firefox
  • Sync your devices
  • Pocket: "view your articles, videos and pages across any device".
  • Gaming & VR: "built-in support for WASM and WebVR. No additional installation needed!"

If it's been a while since you used Firefox, give Quantum a try. You may be pleasantly surprised.

Hi'ya Randy.

Thank you and you're welcome. :)

Chrome is a great browser. I really like it.

BUT - Firefox will be my favorite for as long as their core business principals remain unchanged.

Happy Holidays!

Sharon

From what it is comparing it to that seems to be a direct competitor of chrome instead of just switch to chrome I will just what the new chrome update will bring.

Hi, Jhurreea.

If you prefer Chrome, that sounds like a fine plan. :)

Happy Thanksgiving!
Sharon

I downloaded and am happy I did. These days one can always use 2 browsers and mine are Chrome and Firefox.

Hi, Roger.

Happy Thanksgiving!

I like Chrome too. I've just always been fondest of Firefox - even when:
* it was slow as molasses in winter; and
* hogged resources; and
* instead of alerting you a new update was out - either froze or crashed instead.

I think a big reason I've always been so supportive of Firefox is because Mozilla is so active in the advocacy of net neutrality. The plugins and customizations are nice too. :)

Sharon

It is well to check browser updates often. Thank you!

Hi, Michael.

That's true. I don't do it nearly often enough.

Mostly, I forget to do it at all. Thank goodness update notices pop up. Otherwise, I'd probably be using browser versions from years ago, lol.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Sharon

Hi Sharon, I too use Firefox Quantum and agree with your post. Irv.

Hi, Irv.

I just updated to Quantum a few hours ago, but I'm loving it. Glad I'm not the only one. :)

What browser were you using before? (I was mostly using Firefox 56.2).
