Chicken No More
Yep, chicken no more. Once upon a time not so long ago, I was a chicken. In the last few months, I have studied hard and worked to get things up and running. I have learned how to use various social media platforms to promote my business. However, I was a chicken.
I simply was afraid to get to know folks and just talk to them online. Chicken, yes, that is what I was.
I just wonder how many great opportunities I have missed because of my fear. Perhaps, more than I will ever know.
Plus, how many great people have I missed out on getting to know? Again, more than I can count on my fingers and toes.
Yet, today, I am in a better place with all of this.
Somewhere I read that I should comment back when someone says on my postings. Well, I know that sounds like good common sense. But, when you are in the chicken mode, common sense just goes right out the window.
So, I got the courage to comment back whenever someone said something on my postings. What a pleasant surprise! Most folks were amiable and not scary.
I got up more courage and started expanding my network of online contacts. And even asked a handful to join me in business.
Now, I know for some people that this might seem like small steps. However, when you are a chicken, small steps can look like huge ones.
I am so grateful that I have gotten the courage to talk to more people online. I have made some terrific new friends. And who knows? I might even get some sales and business partners.
So, this chicken is not so chicken right now! This is a good thing!
