Christmas 2021
This has been a pretty rewarding day, all told. I was up at a decent time after getting to bed a wee bit early last night and, after my morning ritual, I hit the kitchen to make a pumpkin pie--a request from my fiance, Daryle. Not long after I'd gotten the pie into the oven, Daryle woke and we did breakfast, and then got our Christmas turkey into the oven after the pie was finished.
Not long after the turkey, I got to work on the remainder of the meal: mashed potatoes, a broccoli-cauliflower combo, and cheese sauce. Daryle and I had decided to keep our Christmas meal simple, as preparing the Thanksgiving meal had been long, complicated, and a bit stressful. However, we had guests to share the food with us, and they brought some food, too--which ended up adding to the clean up. But that was okay with me; washing dishes is a kind of therapy for me, as it's rewarding to watch the pile of dirty dishes slowly disappear!
After our guests left, it was time to hit all those dishes and clean up the kitchen. With some modern Christmas carols playing on the radio, I did just that. And now I'm here with you, telling you about my day!
I hope that everyone's day was as peaceful and worthwhile as mine has been.

The food that you described, just had them...lol
All the Christmas food I think are the same in most
countries.
I am so grateful for all the blessings bestowed upon
us every single day.
Praise the Lord
Thank you for sharing your story.

Hey Margaret,
It sounds like you had a Merry Christmas :)
Your broccoli & cauliflower with cheese sauce sounds good, I've never had it that way.
Although, I have thought of trying that since I like broccoli and cheese and I also love my Grandmothers cauliflower and cheese sauce.
P.S. I hope you have a Happy New Year!

What a busy day Margaret.
Christmas food always seems so special, and the smells are divine as the turkey slowly roasts.
I hope you had a great day
