Is it you or is it me? (Google Core Update)
(Image: person applying deoderant)
I lived in Pittsburgh PA in the late 70's. Beautiful city, even nicer now. But I would need to take 3 showers a day. I was embarassed. I was really self-conscious
Until I remembered what a professor told me when I interviewed at the grad school.
"Yes the air is clear, because they turn on the blast furnaces only at night"
Aha! It's not me!
That's the problem with the Google Core update. I lost all my traffic, not that I had much. But all other indicators are that it's not just me. It may still be me, but until the update is over.
I have so many other indicators that say I am doing the right stuff.
I am seeing traffic on Bing.
I am seeing traffic on Medium with much crappier posts
I am writing my own scripts on youtube and seeing traffic there.
I will post an end of month summary in a week. But the stats are definitely better month over month
Maybe I can do better, but I can't tell. So this is a great time to experiment with other things.
So good time to try stuff and not worry about Google or SEO for now.

Good morning Michael,
I think sometimes we just have to carry on regardless and keep doing what we should be doing! In other words, keep writing and following the training, etc. Sometimes, it's too easy to look at stats and wonder what's happening, but if we focus on what we should be doing, things generally seem to come right!
I have seen many Google updates and I almost tend to ignore them, rightly or wrongly!
Have a fantastic day.
Roy
It's definitely not you, Michael. Google plays havoc with everyone's websites every time it does an update. Hang in there.
I have seen sooo many people online saying this is what you should do to get your traffic back... HELL. John Mueller, used to be a high mucky-muck at google, HE GOT TRASHED BY THIS LIKE EVERYONE ELSE!
So no one knows what to do. In fact, if this is AI driven, Google may not know either!

A great way of looking at things. just keep doing what you have been doing, things have a habit of shaking themselves out.
