So I've been reading some blogging guides online, and so many say you should invest in a premium theme. But I'm still finding my voice and angle within my niche (9 published po

You are doing fine cash in later

Definitely no, you can purchase a theme later. Many people have success with free themes.

It,'s not necessary at this time, especially if you're not making any money right now

There are many free themes that can do the job.

Maxine

My advice... hold off until you find a theme that works well for you.
As Deven says they're nice but not necessary.
Shaunna

Yeah, I think I will. Thanks, Shaunna!

Not at all! Premium themes are nice but not necessary by any means. A lot of times you are paying for tons of features you'll never use that make the theme "heavier" and perform slower.

That's fair, but aren't you also paying for regular updates and SEO?

I'm also a little concerned about the pure aesthetics of my site, since I'm targeting young women who care how things look. Not trying to argue, I just want to be sure I'm making the right decision by waiting.

Some theme developers are better about their regular updates than others. As for SEO... Not really, no. A slow loading theme will actually hurt your SEO more than it helps.

Alright, I'm just going to chill with the themes for now. Better wait till I've actually earned something from my site anyway, lol...

Thanks for your reply!

No problem! They can definitely be a bit of a double edge sword. A premium theme really isn't going to help you be succesful in making money online. However, at least for me, after I bought my first premium theme I became so obsessed with it and customizing it to make it my own I spent so much more time working on my site than I probably would have otherwise... I fell in love with my site.. But again, I was 90% just working on the theme and my site's appearance, not so much generating content to make me money..
