Where'd the passion go?

Hey, guys. I took a long hiatus, mainly because I got a new job that required a lot attention and energy from me, meaning I put this on the back burner. Now I'm wanting to get back into it, but whatever magical mindset I had back then has completely gone. I don't care about my topic in the same way, and my stomach knots at the thought of picking up where I left off. It's not that I've completely lost interest, but all the plans I made for posts just seems like a noose to me now. It's leading me to want to start something new, but I've read numerous posts that that's not the way to go, for obvious reasons. What to do? Do I force myself to keep working on this and hope for the best?

Thoughts are appreciated.

It is not smart to work on multiple websites at once when you are starting out. However, it is also not smart to stick with a niche you have little interest in. It would probably be smart to switch now and not waste time on a site you will just drop later on.

Unless of course you are just in a slump right now and think you will change your mind again later. I see so many people feel they are in the wrong niche but are afraid to switch. If and when they finally do switch they wish they had done it sooner. It is much easier to be more consistent and productive in a niche you are interested in and feel driven to learn about or share.

I know someone here who picked a niche and quickly realized she should be in something else. She heard the advice not to start a second site and decided to stay with the first one at least through the training lessons. After she finished the training she switched. She wishes she had switched in the beginning.

Yeah, I'm leaning toward just starting to work on another site in case I change my mind later. I could let the other one kick about for a while longer without causing any further harm. I think I'm in a slump rather than having chosen the wrong niche for me, but I'm having a very difficult time coming out of it, so maybe planning for something new could spark some inspiration one way or another. I appreciate your input, thank you. :)
