Is there a benefit to affiliate marketing over direct sales/ multilevel marketing? I'm apart of 2 direct sales companies and I would like to create blogs around the products. Bu

Will I be able to sell my direct sales product with my blog and website? I sell Jeunesse. My goal is to have one of the top websites that pop up and are similar to the real website, and when you go to purchase it takes the person to my Jeunesse site. Is this possible with WA?! I hope so :)

I don't know what Jeunesse is, but to answer your question - absolutely YES!

Awesome! Thank you! It's a weight loss as skin care company :)

affiliate marketing has one major advantage- the company with which you are affiliated does the marketing for you once you get them there...You steer someone to Amazon for example, there is all the info a customer could want on the product and they cross and upsell for you, and you get commission on the whole bundle.
You don't have to hold stock, or to ship things out, you don't have to process payments...I could go on, but I won't!

LOL, Andy

You have to have a shopping cart and a sure pages, if your doing direct sales. Affiliate marketers don't need a shopping cart.

Hi - no there's no real difference.

If you get paid a commission for a referral, or sale of a product, then it's much the same.

Some programs give you monthly commissions (like WA would for referrals), some give you a one off payment.

Depends on your interests, your niche - and how well you can promote what someone else is selling, and they are willing to offer you a cut of.

All the best, Mark

Thanks Mark; that's good information.

I looked around WA and didn't see answer:

What are rules for referencing another page on another website (not mine)?

For example, I'm writing a post on Tips for Help

Hey Belita.

Yup, it's fine, just make sure you add the "target' attribute to the link so it opens in a new window, ie.

http://www.w3schools.com/html/html_links.asp

Rich.

That's a good point. Thanks

Well, what you are effectively doing here (unless you are an affiliate of the company whose website you are referencing,) is driving traffic away from your site.

There is nothing wrong with researching sites like this and getting to know the material - and creating your own take on this.

You add your unique twist to what you've learned. We can only present what we've learned so this really isn't "rehashing" like many propose. On your pages, you have your own personal touch to it.

If helping toddlers talk is your passion, go for it! Study it, absorb it and then write about it. You be the expert. Create an authority site (Bootcamp helps you do this) and in time, you will become more introspective on this topic.

This is my thoughts on it.

If the site has an affiliate program, get into that and then reference that page.

Daniel

I get what your saying and thanks for the advice.

That's absolutely fine

It's up to you Belita!. As @RICH. said WA hosting has a lot of variety of security and support. I really love WA hosting, but if you feel comfortable with Cpanel you can keep your Hosgator hosting :)

If you already have hosting with another company I would just continue it with them. Specially if you're account is for unlimited websites. I use Arvixe myself and I am very happy with them as well. It's the cheapest I found out there also. Good luck on your journey.

I've never heard of Arvixe, but thank you for the input.

I have the info on my website about Arvixe you can feel free to check it out. Thank you and you are welcome.

My websites are hosted here because like Michelle said, its a total package. You have access to great learning opportunity, warm and helpful community, and responsive hosting support. Until I think otherwise, I'm staying put.

I do like that WA offers a package of training and hosting. I also think it will be beneficial to my target market.

It's entirely up to you. but I wouldn't bother to change if you're happy. There are quite a lot of us that are premium members that continue to use services like Hostgator.

However, if you wish to change over there won't be any problems with your themes.

I have notice many users not using the hosting here. My Hostgator account is expiring soon and I didn't want to start building my content before I felt comfortable with my hosting. And I like what both WA and Hostgator offer for hosting. Thank you your input.

I'm used to hosting through 3ix.org. It's an OK hosting site, but I wouldn't suggest them if you're planning on making millions. Anyway, they use cpanel, so I'm really experienced with it.
The templates aren't part of WA, they are part of WordPress. You are simply accessing wordpress via WA, as you would with Hostgator. I have a site elsewhere using wordpress and I can access the same themes there as I can here, so yes you will be able to use the same ones.

When you click the admin area of your website here, you go into the 'back of house' area of your website, where you can do all the magic. Basically, cpanel is the same thing for other hosting sites. I have found it super easy working through WA but that could be because of my experience with wordpress to begin with.

Ultimately, it's up to you where you decide to have your websites hosted. I see no reason not to host them here. I'm paying for access to this site, for all the knowledge I get and the community and the hosting is thrown in with that. But I can understand if you feel hesitant about it. If you ever decided to leave, you could take your site with you as long as you own the domain :)

I hope this has been helpful :)

Thanks for your input. It was very helpful and gave me more insight into my hosting situation.

WA is "managed" hosting, there's a wide variety of security and support systems in place and the lack of a cPanel is actually an advantage for most newcomers to website building. The basic options such as email and subdomains are on the blue bar in Websites & Hosting in the main menu. You'll obviously have more sophisticated options with independent hosting, and many Members "graduate" to VPS or own-servers once they're earning. You can certainly use your own themes with WA hosting, certain plugins ad third-party software are restricted, ie. many that make outgoing "calls" to remote servers won't work for security reasons, etc. I'd recommend setting up a test siterubix site and having a play. If WA hosting suits you, then there's little point in paying Hostgator for a service that's already included here with Premium. :) Rich.

I think I will set a test siterubix site and have go. Thank you for the advice.

Rich, thanks for your insights on this subject.
