My Niche and Domain Choices

School is out and I have a 2 week break. I plan to use this time to get my sites up and running, so that I can start adding content and tweaking them.

I have decided on 3 domains for 3 different websites reaching 3 different niches.

The first is for single moms raising boys. In fact, the domain is:

singlemomraisingboys -dot- com.

I initially went with this idea based on the "Starter" course after I looked on Amazon and saw a good number of books related specifically to single moms raising boys. I have now expanded that idea to include any product that I find helpful for me and parenting my boys.

The second will dedicated to Work at Home (WAH) single moms. I chose the domain name:

wahsinglemom-dot-com.

I plan to use this site as my WA Affiliate site. I truly believe the WA community, training and products are worth the cost each month and it is not way out of reach for a single mom working with one income.

Last, I am going to set up a website/resume page. I chose to go with my branded name, so the domain name is:

belitamarie-dot-com.

As a marketing student, I'm learning how important it is to have an online presence, especially a positive and proactive online presence. I will use this site on my resume, but it will eventually become my business/marketing consultant website.

For anyone trying to create the perfect domain I hope this helped spark some ideas for you. There are also great discussions where you can post your ideas and get honest and helpful feedback.

Don't be afraid to engage the community on here. People here are very helpful.

Until Next Time,

Belita Marie

Is is better to choose a .com vs .org extension
also is it better to choose a very specific niche i.e. if i am interested in anti aging and wellness health would it be better to pick a specific domain name within those niches or a more general one those would cover all three. However, I get a feeling that perhaps three separate website may be better as far as traffic attraction and focus. Though, being new it might be good to focus on one and learn from the mistakes therein. Any thoughts out there?

All sound like great niches. You may find as I have that three websites can be much. I am going to reexamine my websites. I may end up shutting one down as it is a lot of work to write for three websites. If you have the time to keep up writing new content, that is great and I encourage you to keep on your journey. You also have the option of getting each site up and running slowly. There are people who purchase domain names and establish the sites later. I wish you the best. Debbie

Hi Debbie, I hear what your saying about keeping up with three websites. Taking the slow route, I believe, it my best bet.
And I know that scheduling will help save my sanity :)
Thanks for you input and much success!
