The Most Unfortunate Thing Happened.
I believe it has been about 6 months since I started blogging and affiliate marketing through Wealthy Affiliate. I have to say I learned quite a lot from not knowing a single thing about this online business opportunity. Things were going pretty good and just trying to be as consistent as I can. I kept on pumping out content that I think visitors would like to see, got my articles google indexed, commented, updated the social media accounts, the usual stuff.
Unfortunately, just 2 days ago, I got hit with a pretty big setback. My Amazon associate account decided to finally expire. Apparently, they have very strict rules in order to continue to be a member. One of those rules being that if the member cannot make 3 sales within a 6 month period, then their account is withdrawn. I just happen to receive the bad end of the stick.
Of course, I went through a short little downtime period. To think that all that time I spent on developing my website, just suddenly went downhill. My website used to be an opportunity to monetize but now that is gone. I had thoughts of whether this is all worth it and if I should even continue on this journey. I started to wonder if visitors even find value in my posts.
Fortunately, not too long after (just a couple hours actually), I found some strength to continue. I decided to just reapply back to the Amazon associate program. Got accepted fairly quick and went at it once again.
The last thing I wanted was for someone to visit my site and click on a nonfunctional link. If that visitor somehow decided to buy a product from my site then, that would have been a lost opportunity right there!
So, I started going through all 50 of my posts, updating every single link with new ones. In the process, I also made some edits to my posts to increase their AIOSEO score. I went through the grind. It took a REALLY long time and I happen to finish just now (2 days later) and am posting about it.
Although hit with a huge setback, I also made a huge comeback. We need to celebrate the little things every now and then to reignite that fire and excitement that we once had since the very beginning.
I have to say, affiliate marketing is definitely not an easy business to go for. But like with anything in life, nothing is really worth seeking after if it is easy all the time.
Hope this encourages everyone to keep going.

I'm so happy to hear you didn't give up, Mike. I just recently joined Amazon.
I agree...this business isn't for the faint of heart. I joined because I like to write and even though I didn't know anything about monetization or SEO, I was excited to learn. I sometimes have thoughts of maybe I am in over my head.

That's awesome that you just joined Amazon. They have such a wide variety of products for you to promote on your website.
That's really good that you are in this business because you like to write. Good to find joy in the things you do :)
