How I've been optomising website images for better speed, any updates?

I'm seeing folks ask about extra image converters to optomise their images for speed. This is what I learned in the training some time back and I'd like to know if folks are doing this now - that the WA content editor, previously called 'site content', now called 'My Content' on the dashboard optomises images even beyond what the Kracken plugin can do. [Kracken being the image optomiser plugin that comes preinstalled on new sites hosted at WA].
This means any image to my site whether to a new or old page or post, I can optomise here, send to my site from here and insert it to whatever post or page I likle
What about published vs unpublished pages and posts?
- For new pages and posts it is obvious, you can just publish from the content editor here and it would have the optomisation
- For already published posts and images you want to change after publishing - you can publish the images by themselves on a 'new post' to your website then go click 'unpublish' and save as a draft - it is then loaded optomised on your site and you can insert it anywhere to any already published article.

What about Image Studio generated images?
- For sites hosted at WA, those published through the WA content editor should have the optomisation
- For sites hosted outside WA, your AI generated images have options when it comes to downloading them, default seems to be png but longclick and see other options come up including webp optomised so you do not have to go off-platform to optomise images through Image Studiary

How are you optomising your images for speed these days?
Remember, it's different for folks hosted at WA than hosted outside, those publishing direct or from another hosting editor will need optomisation for regular images.
Are folks doing something different with the new training? I see from what some folks are considering about external editors and plugins that the old way could still have a place?!
I realise this is a cross between a question and a blog but open to discussion, instead of urgent answer so I opted for blog.
