My amazing first year (you can do this too)

Year one(just take action)

I actually started in august 2018 but you can skip the last four moths of 2019 but ill get to that later.

After a few months of being on the Wealthy Afiliate platform I signed up to the black Friday deal and went yearly with my premium membership.

Why did I choose this option?

This gave me the best chance of getting on with the tasks and not constantly worrying about how am I going to pay for this. (tip I used my credit card to pay for it with zero % interest on the card) It saved me money on my memebership (it costs me about £18 a month)

My first website was up and running.

This is what you can acheive in one year!

: completed all the training videos.

: reached top 100 on the community dashboard

: 1 Facebook fan page with loads of followers and likes

: set up Twitter account and now have over 2300 folowers

: set up Pinterest account and have numerous followers on all my boards

: set up emails sign ups to my website with over 400 people now signed up to my mailing list.

: wrote at least 1 blog every week.

I have actually written over 50 posts but some went directly onto my website :)

How did I do this?

If you are new here at Wealth Affiliate read this part carefully :

Through hard work and dedication to learning how affiliate marketing and blogging works.

I dedicated 2 to 3 hours a day with the aim of getting my website to what it is today.

I followed the training videos from start to finish. Some were easy some were very tough to grasp, but I did it..and so can you ! if you want it and are looking to change your circumstances in your life(whatever that may be) then take action and just get going.

I woke up at 4 am everyday (ok I may have missed a few) then went to work at my full time job at 6. (I work about 53 hours a week at my full time job)

TIP: a millionaires mindset is that they get up early every day and get things done before everyone else.

Don't procrastinate and say I have no time. If you want financial & lifestyle freedom you have to make the time and put in the effort in.

now comes my conundrum!

For those that are wondering did I make any money?

The simple answer is yes and no??

If you consider one sale through one of my links as a yes. That's it a grand total of about £1.50.

Oh no! all that effort and for what?

You are missing the bigger picture.

I have used this first year to learn all about how to run a website and do affiliate marketing. Knowledge is king and if you get the foundations right the house will stand forever.

Remember one year ago I knew nothing about affiliate markting.(now I know a little bit more then when I first started)

So the big question is why did'nt I make any money for those that are wondering?

one reason could be that I have chosen the wrong subject (niche) to blog about. mabye so!!!

Another more plausible explanation is that it takes time for you to get known by the world and people trust your website. Remember you have never done anything like this before so everything won't be perfect. This is a slow journey.

I know somebody here at WA who started the same time as me and they made £2000 in their first year having written fewer posts than me. Am I jealous heck no. I congratulate their success. That is what being part of this community means. We support and help each other. When your success day comes, we will all be behind you too.

Again you are missing the bigger picture...

This isn't all about the money (it would be nice though just to keep me motivated)

It is about doing something for myself, being proud that I have my own website. Knowing that I am working towards some goals and dreams that could change my life forever.

Changing my working attitude and success mindset.

So choose carefully what your subject and website is going to be about. Work hard and smash every goal you set for yourself.

Year two

Just like you new people, I am starting a new website in a new niche. With new ideas and fresh energy, with more learning and much more taking action. The only difference between you and me is I have one years experience under my belt.

I might even start a YouTube channel then you can all see the man behind the words.

So my advice to you is this... get frustrated that it is a slow process. Get angry that you make mistakes... but keep trying. Never give up, then try again just like me.

Then jump for joy when you get some success and let everyone in this wonderful community know about it.

The last 4 months of year one

Yes back to that bit from the beginning.

I have achieved all these results without blogging or being active on this platform due to problems in my mental health.

I think I pushed myself to hard and forgot to take care of myself. It sounds strange (because I told you not too) but I actually quit and gave up for a while and I just can't explain why? my mind just could get going as it was before. If this is you please talk to someone as it is a very scary place to be. Don't be afraid to ask for help.

So this is what I did to get myself feeling like myself again.

*I took a break from it all.

*I changed my diet to a healthier one

* now I exercise daily for 30 minuets

*I have just slowed down and let life's journey just happen.

*I say to myself I am where I'm meant to be.

So please remember to have a healthy work life balance. Look after yourself. Things will happen as they are meant to happen we can't force this process. Just do what you can in your own time..and your success will come.

Its good to be back but please note I might not be as active on the dashboard as I build out my new website.

You won't get-rich-quick!

I have found that out for myself but this is not a get-rich-quick scheme. It is about building a long term sustainable business that you can be proud off. If you get it right you will have a passive income for life as long as you keep working at it.

Does affiliate marketing work? Absolutely yes! you only need to look at the success stories you read on the dashboard. Some of you lucky people out there are crushing it, earning a sustainable income and living the laptop lifestyle.

tip: follow all the training. Never miss a step. One step leads to what you need to do next, and so on.

Soon you will know all the basics of affiliate marketing.

I started one year ago and look at me now.
