When AI Reaches Our Dinner Plate: The Artificial Egg Reality Check

I just scrolled past a reel about artificial eggs, and honestly? It hit different than all the other AI content flooding our feeds.

We've gotten used to AI writing our emails, generating our images, and even having conversations with us. There's something almost abstract about digital AIโ€”it lives in our screens and apps, separate from our physical world. But artificial food? That's crossing into territory that feels deeply personal.

There's something unsettling about the idea that even something as basic as an eggโ€”this perfect little package that chickens have been producing for millions of yearsโ€”now needs a tech upgrade. Are we solving a real problem here, or are we just innovating because we can?

Don't get me wrong, I understand the arguments. Environmental impact, animal welfare, supply chain resilienceโ€”these are legitimate concerns. Lab-grown alternatives could theoretically address serious global food challenges. But there's still this gut reaction (pun intended) that says we're messing with something fundamental.

Maybe it's because food is so tied to culture, tradition, and trust. We already worry about what's in our processed foods, and now we're voluntarily adding more processing? The transparency question becomes huge when your breakfast was designed in a lab rather than laid by a hen.

The weird part is how normalized it might become. Ten years from now, will we be having the same "remember when eggs came from actual chickens?" conversations we now have about physical maps or landline phones?

I'm not anti-innovation, but something about artificial food hits a different nerve than artificial intelligence in other areas. Maybe because while I can choose not to use ChatGPT, everyone needs to eat.

What's your take? Is this the natural evolution of food technology, or are we solving problems that don't really exist? Because honestly, I'm still processing the idea that my morning scramble might soon be more software than agriculture.

If all is frequency... there will be a moment each will receive his/her portion of needed frequency as energyfood...

it takes one to ponder about the reality of this creation, man i would rather choose agriculture over software

Yes, I know right?
I don't know why labor pay is so low in the US. They work so hard.

Just to play Devil's Advocate, I am willing to try it.

But, not only does it have to have the same basic Nutritional value as the real product. It also needs to behave the same as the original when you cook it, and also taste the same. Also, there can be No Detrimental effects from growing, handling, or consuming artificial food.

If it hits all of those marks. That is when they need to work on making it better.

I am saying this for a means to end world hunger, not to innovate just because we can.

But even if one of the above criteria does not hit, then go back to the original until they can make them all hit.

Wow, are you serious? You'd be eating plastic and probably at risk of who knows what.

1

I was just listing the criteria it would have to reach before I ate it.

I have a ways to go for this to seem normal. I know times are changing and it has been many years since I moved from the farm, but this will take a bit to settle. Nutririon wise it could be OK, I haven't paid attention.
Now that it is in my awareness bubble, I will probably see information everywhere.
Thanks,
Sami

I think nothing will ever in a gazillion decades replace true, real life creation. Doesn't matter how much they try. One time, my pastor said: "It's our mural." After pondering on it, its true. We live and sustain ourselves through creation.

I seen this reel too. I have also seen post on X about Bill Gates and his lab grown meat. You can count me out on both!
