How many post's do you need?
I personally don't know, but Bob Lotich based on his post on "how to make money blogging" said that he posted 4 times a week for the first year before he started making any money. Well that works out to 208 posts if my math is right. Now I will admit that the bulk of his income is derived from adsense, so I have to believe that we can do a lot better and a lot quicker. It does, however, make you think. Am I posting often enough weekly? To be honest I don't know how to answer that but it is question worth asking yourself.

I agree with Beverley, comparing your plight to others will only lead to a perpetual cycle of frustration and disappointment. It's best not to focus too much on what other people are doing, as the monetary aspect of a website is very unique and personal. Some people can make money with 5 posts within 3 weeks, others it takes 60 posts in 9 months. One size doesn't fit all, as Beverley rightly said, the emphasis is on being consistent with regular content submission.
There is no magic formulae for this whatever you might read. You do want to update your site on a regular basis and I would say a minimum of once a week. If you can do more - great, but it's better to be consistent. Some people do more when they are first launching their site and then ease down to something that they know they can keep up. :) Beverley
I was posting twice a week at first, then once a week, and now I am posting every other week. I followed had a schedule though.
I was told an authority site is around 300 posts to really see good results. I think it just depends on some of your selections on keywords and marketing methods.

Hi Michael, I think that that can be answered by how many are too many when you get messages from one of your "gurus".
