Google Indexed My Site Already?
I woke up to an exciting email this morning from WA. My site was indexed!
In my half-asleep state, I skimmed the notice, assuming it was for my JournalGenius website that I've been working on since April 26th.
Nope...
It was for my AffiliateYeti blog ... which I've only been working on for 3 days, and where I posted my first keyword-rich article YESTERDAY!
I'm not ready for it to be available to 'The Google' just yet. There's so much still to be done.
So I'm super excited, but completely freaking out at the same time!!
I've built websites for over 23 years and for most of those years, I was using WordPress. I have never in my life, been indexed by Google this fast ... let alone known when I was indexed in the first place.
This is the power of the tools and training here at Wealthy Affiliate. I'm so grateful to have stumbled across one of Eartha's videos on YouTube and ambled over here.

Congratulations on being indexed by Google. It's a great first step. Your next step is to write good content that gets ranked for your desired keywords/search terms.
Just so that you're clear, there's a difference between being indexed and being ranked. Indexed simply means that your website's pages and posts appear in Google's database and can be found by their URLs. This happens automatically as Googlebot crawls the web but can be speeded up by using Google Search Console. Each page and post is indexed individually. There's no such thing as "the site". It's a collection of pages and posts.
Pages and posts are ranked for particular keywords/search terms. This is what you're striving for. So that your post comes up on page 1 when someone enters that keyword/search term.
