strategic progression
We often see the process of critically progressing in our endeavors, It's a depressing stigma to be tactical rather than strategic. Also, it depresses to be down in the grass rather than the treetops.
How many of you have been told you are a number cruncher in your current or previous jobs? Such a stigma I consider the same as being plain dumb.
I would add the highest category of wisdom. This would extend knowledge along the pathways of critical thinking and extend it meaningfully over time. The true test wisdom is in the benefit it gives to a student whether of commercial, or common discourse.

I was never a number cruncher in my life so I can't relate to this even though it is a great post like always. It is good to have you back Mike.

A good break down, we all start at the beginning rung of the ladder, at the top of our game wisdom is the thing that can be the defining factor in success.
At that pinnacle, it can be about remembering the well and oasis that our knowledge sprung from and applying it without prejudice.
We are all progressing, for some of us, the journey takes a little bit longer, than others but if we are still in the game we are moving forward in one direction.
Hi Michael, in my first profession, law enforcement, everything was tactical. I guess that goes with that territory just to stay alive. Now, in my retirement, I work for a web design company where everything is strategy and marketing. Lucky for me I'm not a numbers cruncher. Your pyramid pretty much describes the process we go through when taking on a new client.
Thanks for your post!
By the way, I just discovered that you are from Mechanicsville, MD. I live in Mechanicsville, Va.
