Sandboxing
One of the first places that children are introduced to in a play environment is a sandbox. Here is a lightly constructed pit in a safe observable area of a playground. The sides are usually banked with wooden boards to reduce spreading
This term is also used to designate testing in a software environment. Coders and developers wish to construct a safe and secure environment in which the risk of bugs and flaws introduced by cross contamination is minimized if not outright eliminated!
The "boundaries" are constructed of preventive software to detect and isolate spamming and other infection. then there is corrective software that helps to repair the effect of intrusions. In this way our applications are kept safe and secure.
Eventually the child matures and leaves the sandbox and the software passes beta testing and is released "nto the wild"
Many of us here "incubate" in the WA ranking system. It is a great system designed for healthy development. It has helped many in developing skills and abilities in friending collaboration. It has also helped us develop our writing skills. It is a great developmental comfort zone which properly used should mature us to the "real world" of writing articles, websites and effective works which can bring real business to our coffers.
Unfortunately like many things in life it also has a dark side. Growth can be risk laden and painful! You have only to look at daily threads to see how members obsess over it. Nobody wants to leave a comfort zone. Despite the great number of tools and opportunities for real endeavors and growth offered in this great community, it's hard as many have done to getup, shake the sand off our feet and leave the sandbox , indeed the entire playground and enter the real meaningful world!
I want to see this great community stride forward and conquer and it starts with us all!

Thanks, Mike,
I will look into Sandboxie. Another stepping stone in learning.
I want to learn code so I am going to have to know these programs.
Another for the archive.
And I like this "If you have a proper sandox you can even run a virus infected file and stop all the malicious activity of the virus and see for yourself what it is trying to do. In fact, this will be first step of Antivirus researcher".
I can always count on Mike for his motivational articles. I really need to step outside my comfort zone and stay focus moving forward.
Thanks Mike.
Ah the feel the grains slipping between your fingers. Funny how birds will take a "bath" in it!
That would be fun to see Debbie! :)

Great analogy, Mike!
