demograpics a global simplistic view
A new way to condense demographics This is a cool result from a project that was begun as an experiment. Here is a closer view.
- Gender - All tings being equal the results are ideal. Eras of warfare can swing it out of balance a bit
- Age - here has to be at least 5 different recognized adult groups from boomers to millennial and everything in between
- Religion - Christian leads. This can be tied to the maritime spread of the Spanish and English primarily. Others like Portuguese, French and eastern Orthodox have also contributed. When you add in another third of the earth's surface primarily from Morocco to Indonesia and the Philippines, Islam is a close second
- Literacy - Primarily spread by the British commonwealth and member countries
- Information - measured by formal educational attainment (college) and informal self learning (computer generated and research) This is an area which has grown 500% in the last 50 years
- Nutrition - Ties into expansion of ideas in working the land and proper fertilization and erosion control
- Water - 87% of the earths' surface consists of salt water. The remaining 13% is salt free but is itself 50 % polluted. Desalinization and proper irrigation practices are important here
- Housing and shelter - 20- 25% of the earths' population are homeless. Much of this is caused by destruction in wars and natural events such as fires, flooding earthquakes and storms
- Language - the largest groups are Chinese due primarily to their contiguous land mass and countries that have primarily spread due to seafaring opportunities England, Japan and much of Europe fall into this category
- Population - Asia with its large expanses leads. Africa is a close second with many of its countries stretching population,.especially in Nigeria and Sudan (North and South) and other tropical regions. The Americas and Europe close it out. I doubt that Antarctica would count for even one person
This gives us some idea of the global "living room" for Wealthy Affiliate and brings, in my view, us even closer as the one great entity we are.

If demographic trends interest you,I'm reading Diversity Explosion — Don't have the author's name handy. He has some interesting observations about the country's future, both near- and long-term. Recommended!

I like your demographics. It certainly applies to WA as we have members from many parts of the globe.
