Am I Officially a Grown Up Now?

I remember when I was a kid and being asked "what do you want to be when you grow up?" My answer never wavered.

"I want to be an artist!" I would proclaim to every person who asked.

I was met with skepticism, concern, and sometimes even downright meanness.

"Wouldn't you rather do something MEANINGFUL?"

"You'll never be a Rembrandt."

"It's too competitive to make a living"

"Why waste your intelligence on a hobby?"

"You can be anything you set your mind to"

Yet in my 52 years, my answer has always been the same and it took this long to break away from those critics. The pandemic has been a curse, yet a blessing. It has been difficult with job losses, quarantines, and a slew of health issues (I do not recommend the "shingles" menu item. 0/10). It did give me a lot of time to think about what my real priorities are.

So one day, I just decided that I'd had enough, rolled up my sleeves, and hatched a plan...to finally give in and become a full time artist. That is when eposhy.com was born.

I just came back a few days ago and started the lessons over from day one, building my site from scratch. I've barely been at it a week and already I am getting organic traffic! My goals are to post to the blog at least every other day for the first 90 days while building my store. I`m already starting to develop a following on Instagram so will continue my momentum there and slowly branch into TikTok and YouTube to build followings there as well. Since Instagram is doing OK right now, my first ninety days will focus exclusively there.

in the next six months, I hope to establish my store and to have started generating revenue there plus affiliate money. These funds will be poured back into the business to purchase more supplies and upgrade equipment (better video equipment for example). I will also be cementing in my brand identity during this time.

My one year plan is to start making a profit and to get a sponsorship or two from monetizing my YouTube channel.

Yes, these are big dreams but they are dreams that were stifled for way too long. It seems that when I gave myself permission to follow them, everything is just falling into place. It's the best feeling ever!
