Progress! Planting Seeds of Success at Wealthy Affiliates
Have you ever planted a sunflower seed? It's miraculous when you see that little seed in the palm of your hand, planted at the beginning of summer, growing into a magnificent, giant, (& cheerful) sunflower within only a matter of a few months. All it takes is planting the seeds in good soil, and ensuring they get enough water and sunlight, but once they start to sprout, they grow so quickly! Rows of sunflower seeds become legions of cheerful giants, standing tall, faces turned to the sun.
In addition to writing in my journal each morning, I go out and walk in the fresh air, through a little path in the woods in our neighborhood. In the spring and summer, I often see gentle mother deer with their beautiful babies; I hear owls hooting in the evening. Walking is a great tool for writers! (I recommend Julia Cameron's books The Artist's Way, and Vein of Gold for anyone seeking to develop creative habits that can inspire their writing/art/music/business/parenting/any endeavor that requires creativity and clarity of thought).
My walks take me past a neighborhood group garden, where over the course of the early spring through summer I watched as the sunflowers sprouted, then gradually grew taller, and taller, with each passing day. Upon returning from a family trip to the beach, the sunflowers' growth even in that short time was astonishing. Yet each of these sunflowers was a small seed in the palm of the hand just a matter of weeks prior.
Every website and post we create following the Wealthy Affiliate training is like another seed planted. (Jaaxy helps us choose the right seeds - in the form of key words - to get the best results.)
At first it might seem like progress is slower than we had hoped, but keep on writing, keep on creating, and those seeds you have sown will grow.
This post is to document my own progress so far, a few months in, thanks to Wealthy Affiliates, and thanks to all of the inspiration and support from the community here at WA!
I had registered several website domains some time ago (to bring to life numerous projects), but I had not taken the next steps until I discovered Wealthy Affiliates. Upon beginning the training at Wealthy Affiliates, I quickly realized that Premium membership would be extremely helpful, so I jumped right in. As a result, in a month's time I wrote and published dozens of niche-specific posts (usually more than 1500-2500 words).
At first I focused specifically on writing around keyword terms that resulted from my Jaaxy research. Then I wrote several articles focused on the merits of the content/subject, (rather than writing a post to fit specific key words with low competition). (Ooops - Always write your articles around the keyword terms you have researched using Jaaxy!)
I quickly got back on track and now continue to focus on writing (strategically) around key words that result from my Jaaxy research, for the best and fastest Google ranking results.
It was a good reminder that it is critical to plant the right seeds in order to be able to grow and get the results we are working for.
I'm excited to be on this journey, and I'm grateful to the supportive community at Wealthy Affiliates for giving me the inspiration to keep on going and keep on pushing past any doubts or fears.
In the spirit of continuing to create and sow those seeds, despite any doubts, remember William Shakespeare's words: "Our doubts are traitors, and make us lose the good we oft might win, by fearing to attempt."
One of the many great things about Wealthy Affiliates is that the easy-to-follow training, (and supportive WA community), helps us to stop fearing to attempt, and gives us all the tools we need to jump in and get to work planting those seeds!
I look forward to hearing about your progress & success : )
Cheers,
Kate

I really enjoy your writing style, Kate. I love your sunflower analogy. I know you will do well!
Thanks so much, Melissa! I very much enjoy your writing style also, and I appreciate your wit and gentle, kind humor that comes out in your writing as well. (ps One of my children is Mia L., so I have that affinity too when I see your posts : )
Wonderful inspiration for all. Thank you for sharing. Your analogies are right on. Much success to you.
Laura
Thanks, Laura! I appreciate your kind words and I am following you, looking forward to the journey. Thanks again :)
That is a very good analogy in describing the growth of success one will experience with the knowledge we gain from the WA training.
Many newbies will come to WA and then will not make the effort to start their journey. Sometimes they get scared that they will fail or they realize that success will not come quickly.
Wealthy Affiliate is like an online university. Members need to learn the proper steps for starting a website business. This can be equated to planting the seeds.
As we continue through the training, learning more about SEO and eventually SMM, when we apply what we learn we are watering and feeding those young growing plants.
The more we do to learn and build our website, the more success we will see in the long run. Once our website is up and running we can then decide to step back and start another website.
The goal for reaching success will always take time and determination. Those who rush the process will always experience frustration because success will always take time after applying hard work.
All the best to you Kate on your journey here at WA.
Thank you for your kind words! I have been reading some of your recent posts - very inspirational and motivating. Thanks again,
Kate
Thanks so much for your message. Truth be told, it's kind of funny that the only reason I wrote this post was because ... WA training made me do it. I had to write my first blog post at WA in order to move on to the next training section. I am following every step of the training now (after having jumped in and created dozens of WordPress posts for my website early on). When I first started out on WA in the past month or so, I got to a certain point in the training and thought, right, time to roll up my sleeves and do this (work on my websites/publish articles)! But then it took several weeks before I got back to the rest of the WA training, which is what I am working on now. Thanks again!

Good Morning Kate,
Living on an organic farm I know quite a bit about planting = harvest. I do use the moon phases when needed.
Luckily I was born with quite an adventurous spirit so I have been here and there which has helped to shape me as a person
Writing and investigating for my 2 websites have opened my eyes to a lot of things which happen in the world, things I was not aware of. It has changed my world view
Our actions have consequences be it on an individual level or as a collective. These consequences might show up suddenly, like out of the blue, but when one investigates one will find an action/happening at the beginning, a good or a bad one. Think before you do.
