Be nice
Someone I know goes out of his way every week to take and an elderly friend out a few times. The first thing he does is take this elderly Army veteran to the grocery store, and then helps him carry his packages into his apartment.
Second, usually on the second or third of the month he takes this veteran to the bank, for some cash, when his social security check is deposited.
Third, he takes this Army Veteran out to run some errands. And, usually ending with stopping at a deli or other type of restaurant for a cup of tea.
Fourth, on some occasions he takes this Vet to some baseball games. Buys him a hot dog, and a drink. Mustard or Ketchup? I don't know.
Each time my buddy takes his friend out for a trip to the grocery store, or the bank, or to run some errands, it requires a trip of about a half hour each way, to pick up this vet.
I can not disclose this person's name, or even hint at his identity. He is a very private person, and would not appreciate any publicity. He just believes that doing any of these acts of kindness should be done in secret. And, the "Thanks" he gets from his veteran friend is sufficient thanks.
In conclusion, I would like to say that I am happy to know this person, and I pray for him everyday.

That is so cool, it does not take much to help a fellow traveler the rewards are many, you have very good friends
Thank you.
I enjoyed listening to my friend tell this story over the last few years. I probably should have mentioned that in my post...
He's doing a great work! Thanks for sharing. I'm a strong believer in helping others esp the elderly and less fortunate.
