My Journey So Far
Hi all! Mike Johnson here. I am going to take you on a journey telling you about my accomplishments at WA.
I began with the Starter program as does everyone. I decided on my niche which is Dragon Boating. I then chose a theme for my site. I like the look of my Front (Home) page but realized later that I did not have the capabilities of most sites, like adding a widget for a sidebar. I started writing posts from the suggestions in my Content section. I like how your outline is created for you. However, I noticed that the AI sometimes repeats itself using different words or phrases for the same thing. I have to watch out for this. I think it may be that the word count is too much for the post, causing the AI to start inserting repetitious content to fill the word count I have chosen.
Choosing topics is easy, but choosing keywords is difficult for me to understand. Jaxxy may provide keywords, but when I choose a keyword and write about it, my post does not get indexed. I assume I was finding optimal keywords and writing posts about them. But out of nine posts, only one is indexed, whatever that means.
The funny thing is, I waited for a month to have the funds to buy my domain, only to realize I had credits to do so. I used the credits instead. I would like more details on earning credits like this as well as Word and AI credits as well. How are they acquired? What can they be used for?
Now I have a domain and an awesome front page. I noticed that my posts were not showing up on my Front Page but on my About Mike page. After a couple of weeks of this, I finally figured out how to direct my posts to my Home Page. I placed instructions below my intro on my Front Page. Apparently, this was wrong. I will review Kyle's video on Building Your Website.
I am continuing to post and tweak my site, trying to follow suggestions from others. I do have ideas about other pages in my template that I can use for monetization. I may have to follow directions for this, however. My ideas may not be right.
Overall, I enjoy learning how to build my site and the help I receive. It would be nice to have some traffic though.

I don't think you are supposed to have a link to your website here. Just have the name of your site and we can type it in. or spell it out using "website dot com".
Anyway, you need to break up your home page into multiple posts. Each main section you have can be its own post in your blog roll. Link to these posts internally.
The top text could be its own post about disabilities, etc. Then use the intro to dragon boat racing on your home page and discuss how you are going to help them.
You can set your home page as a static page. You can make a menu link for Blog where all of your posts will go.
Make use of H1-5 tags (H1 is for titles, H2 is for subtitles, etc) instead of bolding and underlining. Add categories and tags to organize.
The site looks nice, but work on the navigation.
Also, the white text overlay on into page is hard to read. Adjust that part.
Add a table of contents when you have really long pages. Add more white space (press enter). Your paragraphs are too bunched up.
