What Did You Say-What's In Your Comment
I love it when I get questions answered don't you? Sure you do. It's why we ask them in the first place.
But, let me ask you this. Do you read the existing comments before you give your advice or opinion? Or, do you simply type what's on your mind?
I noticed on several posts and questions in the dashboard recently where the question gets answered by several members with the exact answer someone else already gave.
Sadly, I seen this on a new members question that they had asked and I'm thinking to myself, I bet they are wondering...What The Heck Is Going In the On Here??? I was.
I know we all want to help and we should, but if the question has been answered, do one of two things, either give the person who answered the question correctly credit and acknowledgement or simply move on to the next question. I hate to say what this looks like to new members. I know what it looks like to me. How about you?

Normally I will scroll down for existing answer or comment but at time when just a some short answer is needed, or just sharing my opinion on the issue, I won't check what has been answer.
And that's fine SK. But in cases where someone is really struggling with what to do or how to do, we need to make sure they get the correct answer and in a timely and professional manner. Actually this is a good post by Sylvia: How to Conduct yourself here at Wealthy Affiliate
Yes, it's just common sense to look through what other people have said not to repeat things.
Comments especially questions need to be read thoroughly and if unanswerable kicked up to a higher pay grade!
No doubt Mike. Actually, there is a lot to be learned from comments if read. I have learned just from comments alone before.
There are those in "higher paygrades" not qualified to answer questions, I have seen "Ambassador" posts clearly stating they are too new to answer some questions and there is no "higher paygrade".
The answer lies in finding someone who knows the answer even if they signed up this morning!
I try to always read the comments first, but if for some reason I don't, I say so. Something along the lines of..."I haven't read all the comments yet, so I apologize if this has already been stated..." Most of the time, I read everything first. (I don't have the expertise to answer many questions yet, so these are few and far between.)
It sure is Patsy. You can tell after being on here for a while and maybe some folks just don't know any better. I'll give the benefit of the doubt----ONCE LOL

Well...I guess I am guilty as charged.. I don't usually scroll down. I do this in order not to be influenced by someone else's answer or comment. Now, however, I see that this can't work the right way either.
I don't usually leave an answer per se, cause I usually don't know it, but I have gotten to the point that I will leave an opinion. Is that the same thing??
I guess to be fair, I will scroll down and check out the situation. I do scroll down after leaving an opinion, but that is too late.
Decisions...Mike am I completely wrong...lol

No Tammi you're not completely wrong. I'm just bringing to light something that we see a lot. I think everyone here knows what they are doing and how to properly give help. But then again there are those.....
IKR...if I ever duplicate, it is totally by mistake, but I will try to look below before being so quick to jump in. It is a good practice!!
