Great question Mike - From my experience, there is a solution to be found for problems, in finding it, we learn and we grow - Personally, I try oi use the six sigma approach or parts of it, depending on the problem. The first step is to clearly define the problem. I likely use the 5 why's and cause and effect method most.

I believe problems aren't all bad. I get a sense of accomplishment whenI find the solutions I need to the latest problem of the day> Then if the problem returns, I know what to do!

Astro-physicists don't understand dark matter. Solvable, yes but the answer may be infinite.
