Hi Mikael,

I've noticed on other YouTube channels that some creators (not WA members) have uploaded very similar videos twice, with the second version appearing about 6 weeks after the first.
The only difference was that the second video was slightly longer, including a call-to-action (CTA).

My question is: Could you upload a review of the same product, say, 2 months apart? I don't mean uploading the exact same video, but as creators make more videos, they typically improve their speaking and editing skills.

I believe it would make sense to upload a second, improved version of the review. Another reason might be that the product has changed (though not necessarily).

So, my main question is:
Does YouTube penalize you for uploading similar content?

My guess is that it won't, but I wanted to double-check with you.

I have many reviews of the same service because changes happen and my video quality has also improved. But usually I do not make a review of the same product/service until something has changed with it or it has been a year or more.

Overall, I think YT could penalize people who keep uploading the same content, but I think it would have to be quite bad for this to happen. I have not heard any examples so I think that as long as you use common sense, it should not be an issue.

Hello Mikael,

It's interesting to see how your channel grew quite quickly once you started putting the effort in, especially once you reached over 1000 subscribers.

I wish you well with your new channel, Mikael; that sounds like an interesting experiment.

It's funny how almost one video can change everything. Just recently, I put up a video and for some reason, people liked it and it has gone to over 10,000 views, which may not sound a lot. However, mine is a news/Christian type channel, so it won't be everyone's cup of tea and potentially goes against YouTube's narrative!

Once again, it does appear that the big thing is consistency, as we say, consistency is key.

Thank you for taking the time to upload your tips for YouTube, it's appreciated.

Roy

Yes, sometimes a video can just take off without expecting it. The more videos and the more consistency, the higher a chance it will happen.

And overall, YT very much has a snowball effect. It can be very hard and take a lot of patience at first, bit then it become more fun when it starts catching on.

Good morning Mikael,

I do find it amazing how just one video can almost change everything, often, it seems to be when we least expect it!

I think one of my biggest problems has been consistency, Mikael, which I believe is key to being successful online or probably any business. My off-line business is quite seasonal and can also be quite busy at times. This is when the online business suffers. However, we have to keep building and moving forward.

I have heard about the snowballing effect so often; this is the place where I want to be.

Have a fantastic weekend.

Roy

Yes, consistency is very important. Even in busy periods it is important to at least keep doing some things to move forward with the online business also.

Great weekend to you too.

I hear you, Mikael. Ever since I started working online, I saw that consistency appeared to be key. I'm hoping to sell my offline business, it's literally going on the market, I hope in a few days when all the accounts are fully up-to-date. I hope to go full-time online and take advantage of the extra time.

How long have you been working online, Mikael? I know that your profile says that you joined in November 2016, but maybe you were making money before you joined the platform. I joined in November 2014 but was already making money online (but not a full-time income), so I knew the principles of Internet marketing. However, I really like the idea of being around like-minded people and having up-to-date training, etc, with the Wealthy Affiliate platform.

A very happy Sunday to you.

Roy

thank you, Mike!

You are welcome.

I think getting those 4k watch hours is much harder than 1k subs -__-

Usually, it comes around the same time if everything is done organically. But yes, the 4000 hours does take patience to reach in most cases.

Thx man!

Thank you, Mikael, for the informative video post.

- Makinde

You are welcome. Glad it helped.
