WP Comparison Charts Is Bad News

I just want to share my experience recently with the website owner of WP Comparison Charts. I was searching for a comparison chart plugin and his site and product appeared to be good. I paid $29 for his plugin with no worries, as he offers a "no questions asked" refund policy.

I am not a "techie" person, but thought I could handle this easy enough. After hours of trying unsuccessfully to get it to work, I emailed for help. He sent a manual! The problem was that the manual doesn't explain that you have to create two posts for each product and its details. You are given no help as to how you can build your charts.

As for the refund, he denied it and stopped communicating. He only accepts PayPal payments and is using his "money back guarantee" fraudulently. He knows that once you pay through PayPal his refund policy is void and he will never have to refund anyone for any reason.

I have since found other unhappy buyers who went through this same mess. If you are looking for a comparison chart plugin, look elsewhere. WP Comparison Charts is run by someone who is dishonest and I don't want others at WA to lose $29 as I foolishly did.

Thanks for the 'heads-up"
Bill

Sorry you went through this Michelle. Thank you for the warning and I hope Paypal will refund the money for you even if this scammer won't!

I wish PayPal would do the right thing, but they are just another giant operation that has "rules to follow." Crazy...

I've had my problems with Paypal recently. They wanted me to send a copy of my bank account statement and a copy of my credit card statement when I said I wouldn't do that for anyone they limited my account and made it so I couldn't close the account. Needless to say, I will not ever do anything with them again.

I've heard of things like this, and I know many have had trouble with PayPal as well. I've never been a fan, that is for sure, but they have kind of monopolized the way many businesses accept payment.

Sorry to hear that. Thanks for letting us know

You're welcome.

The worlds full of them, thanks for the warning

Absolutely.

Surely the fact that he is offering a money back guarantee fraudulently is grounds for PP to step in and refund. I was recently sold counterfeit goods, paid by PP credit card. Got a full refund even though the seller was kicking and screaming. If the item was fraudulently sold then I'd be raising that with PP. If you used your credit card you can also do a charge back within 28 days I believe. Good luck and thanks for sharing your experience.

Let me guess - Golf Clubs on ebay.

Thanks for the info., Alex. I did go to PP and filed a dispute. I even called them and discussed it with them. The problem is that it is not a physical item. He did deliver the product, and that is all that PP needed to know for them to side in his favor. They told me that what he is doing is wrong and they have red flagged his account, should this happen again. I must have been their guinea pig, because I still can't believe PP would think he should retain my money!

Plus, I had a PP balance, so I can't go back on a credit card. It was just a horrible experience and a losing battle. :(

Nope. Vibram fivefingers.

Sorry to hear that Michelle. One of the many reasons i hate paypal. I prefer the credit card because on a chargeback they swipe the money back pdq then the vendor has to contest it and prove it from their end. Paypal are largely a law unto themselves, not a fan.

Thanks for the heads up, Will avoid it like the plague.

Many thanks for the info.

Very welcome!

How upsetting for you. Thanks for warning us all. Ches

Glad to share this with everyone. I don't want others giving him their hard earned dollars.

Thanks for the heads up, I work to damn hard for my money as it is!

It really does stink when something like this happens, but I learned my lesson.

Thanks for the heads up on this Michelle, I have been looking for a decent comparison chart for awhile.
Please let me know if you find anything useful.

Hi Forrest. I have looked at a lot of comparison charts, as you obviously have as well. I finally settled on WordPress TablePress. It is user friendly and I had it figured out pretty fast. Plus, (ready for this...) it is FREE! lol

I don't know if it would be what you are looking for, we all have different tastes. You should check into it though.

Ahh, I actually already use that to make tables on my site, I didn't think about trying to configure it as a comparison chart though, Duh!! lol
I actually think it looks kind of plain and I was really looking for something more like the WA comparison chart.
It's been awhile since I have looked at it, maybe there is more I can do with it.

That is funny that you already have it! I agree, WP Comparison Chart looked classy. WordPress TablePress begins to look better once you add images and some links. Kind of takes the plain look away, at least that is what I'm finding out. I have yet to find one that is easier to work with, but that may just be me. :)
