Be Thankful For Your Choice Of Career

I suspect that most of us have spent a great part of our lives pursuing careers that differ greatly from what we now have chosen to do. In my case I spent many years in light engineering sales and was good at what I did. I think a lot of that comes down to the fact that i enjoyed what I did. Firstly you need to like the industry you choose, secondly you must like the company that you work for and thirdly you must get a high degree of motivation from your achievements.

Think about it. If you don't like what you are doing, how can you convince other people to buy from you? If you don't like the company you work for (you're always moaning about your boss, the lack of vacation time, the long hours, etc.) then surely your attitude will soon be recognized by potential customers? And if you can't get motivated, why get out of bed in the morning?

In my line of sales, I spent hours of every day traveling between building sites or head offices of clients. Discipline was important, not only to make sure I arrived at the correct place at the correct time, but also to ensure I was able to complete the amount of work that was required by my company.

Some of you may still be working for companies and just use Wealthy Affiliate as a part time business. Others will be building a full time business. It doesn't really matter which category you fall into. The reality is that you should take on board some of the disciplines referred to above. So if Affiliate Marketing is your "thing"...

1. Choose a niche that you really like. Don't just choose a subject that is "in fashion" this month. If you really like something, your passion will shine through.

2. Don't be rude about the company.

3. Be motivated by what you do, Potential customers will appreciate you for that.

4. Be disciplined. It really doesn't matter if you spend 2 hours or 60 hours a week working on your business. Plan what you are going to do and stick to the plan.

And finally, it isn't a race. Do the simple things correctly, and sincerity will win sales. Sincerity will win recommendations. Recommendations mean more sales. More sales means a better lifestyle.

Good to know I'm not alone in thinking this...

No sir you are not! I worked my way up in the HVAC world into Commercial Sales and Geothermal equipment. I had to believe in the equipment and know all the ins and outs of that said equipment.
You also have to truly believe in the talent and work force that will be installing this in a building or customers house. You can sell the best of the best but if it gets installed incorrectly that makes that equipment not function at the caliber you promised.
