When you choose to start a business, it can seem like time fly's by at a more rapid pace. Time slips away with the task you set out to accomplish within your day. What you know as a normal day can be eaten up by distraction. Staying focused is the key to managing your valuable time.

My Journey Here

I began my journey here at Wealthy Affiliate in October 2023. Prior to joining, what did I know about affiliate marketing? Apparently the answer to that question was absolutely nothing. You see, prior to joining, I fell into a couple of the affiliate marketing traps. I searched online and seen post and titles that said things like, "Done For You", "Your Path To Fortune On Autopilot", and the ever popular "Make Money Now!". These titles are but 3 of the pitfalls I encountered. Programs designed to make the owners rich with the promise of teaching you affiliate marketing skills along the way.

What Did I Learn?

I learned a lot actually. The business on "Autopilot" model should be avoided like the plague! I learned to be more cautious when searching online. I learned things posted online are not always true or what they seem. There is loads of false claims and information out there. It is up to you to weed through the mistruths. Research is the key to your success.

Wealthy Affiliate Was Different

I approached my invitation to wealthy affiliate with great skepticism and very careful caution. I read emails daily. It appeared my invitation came in the form of an email if I remember correctly. Possibly a solo ad or clever email campaign, who knows, I have trouble sometimes remembering what I had for dinner the previous day.

I was wondering if I was about to make yet another mistake and waste my start up funds I just rebuilt from the past mistakes. My will to succeed pushed me forward yet again into the unknown. Not knowing what to expect, I clicked the link and was delivered to a sign up page. I entered my information not knowing what to expect. This turned out to be one of the best decisions I have made.

Turns out, I fell into a community of like minded individuals and not a trap, I prepared myself for the worst and experienced probably the best out there. I mean, instead of everyone saying in order to succeed you will need to promote this, this is how it is done, and this is what you have to invest to make it big. I was met with actual training. I was given a free website to practice on. This basically shocked the hell out of me. Here is why...

To keep it fair, I will not share the program names. It is my goal never to speak ill of someone or something even if I am ticked off. I sometimes have trouble doing this, but at least I try.

Other "PROGRAMS", I was forced to buy my own domain. which I still own but no longer have access to because I am not part of THEIR program. When I left, they gave me no option but to surrender it. I bought it and that is theft in my book, but it is only money and if that is what it took to rid myself of them, so be it.

I was given instructions, very vague instructions on how Solo Ads was the only way to get your ideas in front of buyers eyes. And the only products worth selling are "High Ticket Items", mainly their programs. After making a couple of sales, I dropped back and evaluated my sales and realized I am only doing well and have the ability to do better. I also feel guilty for attracting people to the crap I was selling. In hindsight, I do not know why I did it.

Anything I do, I pour my soul into, in other words I work very hard. I do not like making someone else money while I bust my butt working. If I do the work, I should reap the reward. Which brings me to this platform.

Upon joining, I was greeted with people. Of course the training here is video based like the other places I was, but I could actually speak to people here. and not by a message board, but an actual Live Chat. I was dumbfounded. I can actually remember saying to myself I should have found this place first. Oh well, as I stated in previous post, I learn fast and well from my mistakes.

The training here was not like the other places. I actually learned what I needed to learn and why I was learning it in the process as I advanced. The longer I stuck around, the more I learned until I ran out of training available to me and had no choice but to upgrade to get to more. I figured if I was about to make another mistake, here it comes, And there it went. I actually got access to more advanced training.. Again I was shocked. I learned more in a week here at WA than the entire year of struggling with the other shady programs.

Skip to Today

Premium was a great investment. And with a Premium membership you can do amazing things, but as I grew, I knew I needed more. Again, back to previous post. I am a bookworm. I read way too much and learn as I go. I figured if I was going to continue to do this, I would have to commit myself fully to it. Once my mind was made up to commit, I upgraded to Premium Plus. And what happened next, blew me away. The quality of training alone was worth the upgrade. Not to mention the tools like Jaaxy. When you upgrade to P+, it is like getting Jaaxy Enterprise for Free every month. The experience with it is even different with the upgrade. I will save it for my next post where I ramble on aimlessly.

Multi-Task

I have not yet retired but I am close. I do this in my spare time. In my industry, I am either on the phone or answering it 24 hours a day. I have to be ready to respond at a moments notice. I have lived this way for the past 33 years. Frankly, I am tired of it, but if there is one thing I am good at, it is multi-tasking. I can juggle a full time on call position and maintain this in between.

Wealthy Affiliate has given me hope. Has given me knowledge. Now it is up to me to apply what I have learned. I know I can make this venture work in my favor. I have already proven that. I have my retirement to support me, anything I make here is a bonus. It took a couple of months and if those couple of months is any indication of my future in affiliate marketing, I stand to profit greatly.

I will shut up now. I wrote this post without an outline. By Myself (No AI Included) and I am tired, so I am not even going to proof read it. Which I know I am going to regret.
