How to properly report this copied content?

Hey everyone,

So I was doing research for some of my keywords on Google and after a few pages of looking for certain ones I came across a copied version of my content but in video format...

the video shows in the Search results. Now, I won't drop a name here but this person has made short videos of my content with my some of my own blog post images I used with some of their own imagery and the exact same words I used word for word but not in a full blog post length(to fit the video) in between without a voice.

After I saw their video library I noticed they've been copying my work for quite some time with other videos of my content. Their description link goes to a "My lead gen secret" optin page and that's pretty much it.

It doesn't look like this person optimizes their tags properly so there's not many views on it like my original ones but that's besides the point.

I've reported stolen content before like on YouTube but how Should this particular situation be handled? Like any YouTube video you'd report or how exactly for this case?

Thanks,

Michael

I hope you can resolve this horrible issue.

This is terrible, Michael! I hope that you get it sorted out, my friend!

Jeff

Wow this deep it is the principle that he has copyrighted your content into video.
Don’t know how to deal with this but like what Grantcon said.

That's terrible, it is nothing more than stealing. My opinion having been in this situation recently, the first thing is to send them a letter notifying them that you are aware of the copywrite infringement. Give them 24 hours to take down your material or you will be forced to utilize all legal remedies at your disposal. I hope this helps and I hope it stops at this stage, please post the outcome and good luck.

Hey Grant,

I can’t find their email, social media profiles or anything else to send them a private message, so should I just briefly tell them over a YouTube comment?

Scratch that, I just remembered I opted into their email list and I’ll try to do so there.

You tube has several videos posted by lawyers that go into detail what your remedies are, whether it is a "cease and desist" order or a DMCA takedown order all of the options are covered.

I'm taking a deeper look. Your opinion and suggestion was very helpful and needed.

Thank you very much!

I can’t remember where I saw a video about this. I think it’s on utube, but I recall that it was ok to take someone’s content and make videos of it. It’s not considered copying, but let’s see what the other members here have to say about it.

Hi Estellyn,

I believe it's only acceptable when curating similar content but putting your own words and take on it. In this case, the person obviously pasted my text word for word into their video.

Grant clarified it better. Thanks for your input.
