How Does Pinterest Work?

The answer to the question How does Pinterest work? right now is nobody really knows.
Let me explain
I am a big fan of Pinterest and the last time I wrote about it here at WA I told you that it drove the most traffic to my site and I was getting 123K Visitors a month .https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/memorylaneuk/blog/pinterest-... Within a week of that my monthly visits went up to 133K. I had worked this social platform by using schedulers like Tailwind and Boardbooster.
Then Pinterest went through some algorithm changes and I saw my stats drop slowly down to 88K a month. Still a lot I know, but the aim is always to improve.
I was also getting lots of emails from other bloggers about the changes and what to do now. Apparently my first 5 Pins were the most important, then they weren’t. Having more boards were important and then not so much.... confused? yes so was I. I guess it’s my own fault for signing up to so many email lists. My emails need a full time manager just to organise them!
Another thing I heard was that Boardbooster was causing people’s accounts to be closed, then that it wasn’t. It was by commenting too much on pins which was causing account closures.
So What Did I Do Differently?
Nothing, I sat it out. Yesterday my monthly visitors showed 144K visitors a month... phew!
Yesterday Boardbooster closed down. I guess those rumours were true! However I am scared to look at my stats now as Boardbooster played a big part of my strategy...ouch!
For anyone here at WA going through Pinterest challenges, my advice is to sit it all out. Let the dust settle and carry on with any strategy that works for you. If you have your account closed, a nice email should get it Reinstated.
However don’t stop, it is still a great social media platform and one worth learning how to use properly once the dust settles and Pinterest decides on its algorithms. I will keep you informed on any new practices as and when.
Please let me know of any challenges you have had with Pinterest and I will help where I can.
With Grace and Gratitude
Karen
