AI Continues to Be a Game Changer
(Cover Photo: AI generated book cover)
Hi everyone,
I'd like to show you a comparison of book covers.
Here's what's currently selling on Amazon for this specific title:
To me, the 4th one is kind of nice. How about this?
Front, spine and back cover
This cover was created by ChatGPT.
Here is the prompt I gave it:
Pride and Prejudice themed book cover, no text, image only
It interpreted that and made this prompt for itself:
Prompt: A Pride and Prejudice themed book cover with no text. The image should feature a classic, romantic scene typical of Regency-era England. Depict a grand country estate in the background with lush gardens, and in the foreground, a well-dressed couple—symbolizing Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy—engaged in a meaningful glance or moment. The atmosphere should be elegant and timeless, with soft, warm lighting to evoke the romantic and historical essence of the story. The overall style should be detailed and visually appealing, suitable for a classic novel.
With Public domain titles being published all the time, often the only differences might be price and the book cover and I believe a visually appealing book cover could also be more important than the price.
So once the new book cover above was made, I just uploaded it to KDP Amazon without text and KDP applies the text to the cover with the result that you see. You don't even have to go to Canva and work on that part. Although in Canva's defense it might have done better on the wording of the spine.
You don't need to rush off to Amazon to buy this. You can read the book for free on Project Gutenberg.
Next, I'll create a Large Print Edition of this book and then select one of my titles that's been on Amazon for awhile with a more generic cover and replace the cover with with a new AI image and I'm curious if sales will increase. I'll probably do x number of covers a day until they are all updated.
Why sell a book from 1813 on Amazon? Is there really a market?
According to my research there are about 2,670 searches a month for this title with earnings of about $6,179.00. I'll be happy to get a piece of that pie. :-)
I hope you are enjoying your FriSatSu!
