It is Well With My Soul-Quit Smoking
Stop smoking before its too late!
There is a billion of people around the world who suffer from this kind of addiction, some is fighting for themselves to leave these vices, yet, they don't know how to stop.
I only know one thing about these vices, if I was able to stop pupping cigarette, I know you will too. You, ask me why I stop smoking? my answer will be, that depends on how determine you are. I was involved and smoking cigarette for 5 years, where did I get this kind of vice? I learn this to my friends. Why I smoke? because I do it. It the choice I make. Why I stopped? it's because I choose to stop.
Friend I know it is really hard to stop doing it. most especially if you don't have the will to do it. But I have simple tips for you and I hope this will help.
Find an oral substitute – Keep other things around to pop in your mouth when cravings hit. Try mints, carrot or celery sticks, gum, or sunflower seeds. Or suck on a drinking straw.
Keep your mind busy – Read a book or magazine, listen to some music you love, do a crossword or Sudoku puzzle, or play an online game.
Keep your hands busy – Squeeze balls, pencils, or paper clips are good substitutes to satisfy that need for tactile stimulation.
Brush your teeth – The just-brushed, clean feeling can help banish cigarette cravings.
Drink water – Slowly drink a large glass of water. Not only will it help the craving pass, but staying hydrated helps minimize the symptoms of nicotine withdrawal.
Light something else – Instead of lighting a cigarette, light a candle or some incense.
Get active – Go for a walk, do some jumping jacks or push ups, try some yoga stretches, or run around the block.
Try to relax – Do something that calms you down, such as taking a warm bath, meditating, reading a book, or practicing deep breathing exercises.
Go somewhere smoking is not permitted – Step into a public building, store, mall, coffee shop, or movie theater, for example.
Quit now before its too late.

Lot of great advice to quit smoking. I quit many years ago. Chewing gum helped me a lot.
PS I love that song, It is well with my soul.
Yes...When Peace Like a river ascendeth my way. when sorrows like sea billows roll, whatever my lot thou hast brought me to see. It is well, it is well with my soul
Thank you for this post. I too am a former smoker and I agree it is hard to quit. You have to really want to quit. I kept a notebook, pen and my Bible with me when I decided to quit. I was a barber at the time, so every time I craved a cigarette, if I didn't have a client, I would open my Bible and start writing scripture. My dad started smoking when he was just a young boy around the age of 12 and although he lived to see his 84th birthday, his last years were spent with breathing problems. He died of lung cancer in 2008.

how was the feeling? hehehe its really nice if you can quit this kind of vices. The feeling is very great.
Yes the feeling is great! Another reason to quit is the cost of a pack of cigarettes is so high now. Think of all the money you would save. But then, if the government didn't have the tax money from that vice, everyone would be taxed for the revenue lost from cigarette sells. No win situation there, but your lungs would feel better.

Congratulations!
It's a good choice you made for your health. The cigarette is an addiction that is very difficult to drop. I see people around me who have a hard time living without their cigarettes. But as you say so well if you have succeeded others will succeed in taking the plunge and will finally be able to breathe something other than this black smoke full of poison that disturbs those around them and destroys their health.
