My greatest lesson of all.

Well firstly as some may know I got involved with the internet way back in 1996 which incidentally was before the birth of Google and Facebook.

Around the time of good old eBay who were preparing their conquest of the world!

I opened a string of cybercafés using the old 28k dial up modems ! Do you all remember those days - lol :) ? I did quite well and sold the chain out just before the birth of broadband otherwise I would have been sunken for good!

Anyway I developed a pure passion and love for the internet and soon began my journey in to html and php and asp programming and web development.

I floated for years on my ability to build high powered websites and float above others on a wave of intellect - an attitude that would later come back and cut me to ribbons in years to come.

I have run a number of small Businesses online but nothing really to boast about.

I have also written 3 children's novels one of which was published.

I have quite a few achievements under my name including some domain sales that reached over £20k. I was helped by the fact I registered many in 1995! such as shareprices.com and footballers.com

However the reason I write this blog is not to boast how much I have done and how much experience I have , on the contrary although I thought I knew a lot, WA have taught me I know very little!

What a revelation and wonderful feeling it is to realise that I know very little about the world of Affiliate Marketing. Its a great feeling to wipe my slate clean and wipe the past away and start just as a nervous schoolboy would on his very first day at school - lol

I have come along way thanks to WA in both hope and attitude in the last month

"In more ways than one WA have stuck a pin in me and punctured my egotistical pride.."

I feel as if the icy mountain I once shivered under has been taken away and replaced with the warm soothing rays of the sun.

I have now developed a sincere respect and humility for the subject known as Affiliate Marketing. :)

I have to admit in days gone by I thought I knew all the answers to this age old riddle.

My honest views on Affiliate Marketing prior to joining WA was something like this ...

Deep down within me was the fundamental idea of it being possible to make a fortune from the comfort of your own living room yet rather than try I conned myself in to thinking I could do it if I really wanted to but best leave it to others - the truth was I did not really have a clue folks! I would never admit this though.

Deep within was the notion that it could be done but I would never try it in case I failed.

Oh yes folks I have a fear of failing.

Also deep within was the dark notion that this kind of lifestyle was reserved only for the technical wizards or the first class degree junkies.

I thought that may be some of the Stanford university guys like , Sergei Brin or Larry Page , Google founders, would have a chance of doing it.

What this system has given me so far is vision and above all that elusive much desired and needed word "Hope"

I have learned so much and my inflated narcissistic ego has taken a beating.

I truly believe now, in my heart, that this dream is possible and I also know that all my knowledge of html, php and server side scripting is not much use.

I was told some years ago that I would make a good teacher - well if so now is my chance to try and help others for the right reasons

What I need is direction and real help I have found that now by becoming a premium member at WA
