Don't forget to update those old links!
So just the other day I was going back through some of my old posts on one of my sites, and I noticed that some of the affiliate links on the really old posts had expired.
Now I should point out that with affiliate programs like Amazon, although they don't pay the best commissions their affiliate links tend to remain functional for a very longtime.
But the thing of course is that as an affiliate marketer you don't want to just use Amazons affiliate program, because their commissions are small. But some programs out there will give you up to as much as 75% a sale (maybe more in some cases).
But within this also is a problems, because a few other affiliate programs from smaller companies that I have used, tend to sell out of stock much quicker and thus the links essentially just diverts to a "404 page does not exist" message.
So what I'm saying here is if your using a lot of affiliate programs from smaller companies, especially if its specific clothing, jewellery or specialist products - then make sure you go back through all your old posts one by one and update any links that are not working anymore.
If the smaller company does not have the product anymore, then look for the same product on Amazon or Ebay etc and just stick their affiliate links in the original post instead.
This is something you could easily get lazy with, but stay on top of it, because you need to have all of your posts and pages live, fully functional and thus ready to make you an income.
Thanks for reading!

Thanks for the heads up, I have made it a habit to send people over to the page and not directly to the article, in case they remove and replace it for a newer model
That is very good advice. Thanks.
