Website logo or Banner

I'm not really sure what its called but on Twenty Seventeen theme, there is the image of 2 pots on a wooden table.

I think its called a Header Logo or is it called a Header Banner?

Either way, I want to make a similar banner/graphic that goes across the top of my website but where can I find the best dimensions required to do that?

Keep it mobile-friendly

And how do I ensure it remains mobile friendly?

I have created a banner in Canva a few times using some text and a background, but I really need to know the best size (or at least the width), as they always appear a bit small on the screen.

Thanks

Good question, was wondering the same.

Re mobile responsiveness, most themes are mobile friendly, it's a matter of tweaking your mobile view, which will differ.

The view you see on your desktop, is not the same view on your cell phone.

Reason?
Space.

The phone is convenience. Most work is conducted on the 'desktop' or laptop used as the desktop computer.

With Elementor page builder, while in your site admin, while working on your post or page, you will be able to see a view of the desktop, table and mobile devices. There, you can decide if changes are needed to properly display.

Hope that helps.

Most themes set your logo dimensions.
That said, you can design your logo to fit the space.
Your logo can be a full header or a small image that sits in the corner of your header.

Some themes permit you to set your logo at left, right or center.

Hope that helps...

Thanks Rudy. I will look again in the morning. Someone told me I needed to create a banner of 728 across rather than let WordPress fit a small logo into the space
