Wish Me Luck Guys, I'm Switching Back!
Alright, a lot of you guys probably saw my post about having issues with switching from All in One SEO to Yoast SEO. If you didn't, I'll quickly sum it up.
I've been using All in One SEO for all of my sites and I've never had any issues with indexing or how my meta descriptions looked. I heard Yoast SEO was better, installed it, transferred my data over and everything was good until I started looking at some of my new posts and how the meta descriptions were getting indexed. Example below.
As you can see, my permalink, then the start of my post is getting indexed into the description. I've tried EVERYTHING to fix it. Changed my meta title/description, changed my meta title description settings in Yoast, I've resubmitted my sitemaps, I've even fetched and rendered as google then submitted to index individually to attempt to fix this. Nothing has changed.
I've even posted on the Yoast SEO Wordpress forum for support and haven't gotten a solution. So unless someone that has experience with this and can give me a good reason not to, I'm making the plunge back to All in One SEO. I'm aware that there is a possibility I'll be making it work but I'm sick not finding a solution to this problem. With that being said, I'll keep you guys updated, as I've said in my other post, the only good coming from this experience is the fact I can help others avoid making the mistake I did.

It is very frustrating when we simply cannot rectify something have you tried putting in a support ticket
Hi Matt - it is very frustrating and time consuming I know. However, you have the advantage of knowing what you are doing - a lot of us just have to keep plugging away with trial and error.
All the best,
Tony
Being relatively new to WordPress I will just stick with the info that tile gave. One day if I have the time I may look into something new. I realize that that is a stupid view point but it's the best that I can do right now.
That isn't stupid at all. What I did was stupid. I should've waited to use Yoast on a brand new site, rather than using it on my main site. I just never anticipated there being a problem, but now I know better.
I'm sticking with All In One ... had problems with Yoast. I think that perhaps Yoast works well IF you install it when you are first creating a site. But coming in with it mid-stream appears to cause more problems than it solves.
I agree, Cathy! I think if I was to install Yoast on a brand new site I wouldn't mind it, but mid transfer was a bad move. I just really hope moving back doesn't make it even worse, but like I said I've got to try something, it is getting ridiculous.
When I moved my site back to All In One, everything was fine. Nothing bad happened and it's been rockin' along ever since.
There are definite controversies surrounding which one is best. I too tried Yoast after one of Jay's training on it, and like you, I had problems with it. So I am also sticking with All in One SEO - unless I overlooked something? Great post.
Thanks for your input, Steph! I think I'll be sticking with All in One SEO as well from now on. I just wish I never made the switch on my main site to begin with; stupid move on my part.

Thanks for the update, Matt. I hope the switch back works well and quickly! Thanks for helping the rest of us to avoid this potential pitfall! Best of luck!
