This is just a very quick blog to share a little breakthrough I've had.
3 days after posting an article, it's ranking at number 4 for the specific long-tail keyword I was targeting and ahead of a very well known authority site in my niche.
I'm over the moon!

I just spent a couple of hours doing the alphabet soup method for keyword research, making a note of those searches which returned forum discussions as the top page results.
It was like sifting for gold!
Yes it was laborious, but, I feel it's better to invest the time doing that and write a great article around those nuggets of gold knowing that your efforts will be rewarded rather than the spray-and-pray approach I'm sometimes guilty of adopting.
Work Harder
This little breakthrough has motivated me to work harder at keyword research and look for new techniques that will yield equally brilliant results.
