I liked omm writer a lot when I was still using a pc but now I usually write with a chromebook so I can't use it. I use toggl as a chrome extension to track my time doing certain tasks. Time tracking helps a lot with my productivity.

One thing that wasn't mentioned that I use a lot is Write Or Die. The webapp is free. Basically, you set a writing time or word count goal and if you stop typing for X amount of time there is a consequence. You can set the time and the consequence from an annoying sound to a flashing screen to erasing previously written words. It's great for getting first drafts finished fast and editing later.
